We are Legend!

17 posts in this topic

I truly believe we are on our way to becoming a dynasty. The way we have played over the last 5 yrs under John Harbaugh shepherded skillfully by Ozzie, Eric DeCosta and Joe Ortiz through the draft and free agency, we are truly becoming elite. I believe the way we are putting our teams together year in and year out, leaving leadership in place, developing future leaders and giving them the stage to perform in is a treatise in running a professional ball club!

I believe the way Steve has laid down the structure for this team, and the leadership he has in place both in players and coaches is phenomenal. I don't envision a scenario where we are not SB contenders now and into the future! That to me is a 'dynasty' folks!

If you care to dispel my theory, you will have to make cogent arguments against it, if not tell me why else my thinking is right!

Go for it!

I'm with on all of that. This year will be the test. If we handle the loss of leadership well, then we have a huge window for the next 5+ years due to the level of skill and depth in the younger players. I'm of the opinion that we will will have a few hiccups here and there, but we will improve overall on defense and be much faster all around than we have in a long time.

Will Smith lied to me!!!

I was literally thinking like the same thing... I was also wondering how zombies and the decimation of mankind was being incorporated into Ravens Talk.

Will Smith lied to me!!!

No he didn't - he permitted use of that movie title that he borrowed from a book, which in turn was based on a real life story that wasn't Will Smith!

lol. I do agree that we are on the verge of a dynasty. If we win again or even go to the playoffs I believe that title will be bestowed.

Considering there are many people who still believe the Patriot dynasty is ongoing even though they haven't won a title in about a decade, we could argue that we've already been a dynasty for five seasons.  Anyway, I don't see us disappearing from the contenders any time in the foreseeable future.

Yep.  We made the turn 4 years ago.  We've taken over from pburgh in the AFC North and we've begun to take the AFC from the patsies.

It's The Decade of the Raven baby!!!!

I Am Legend- awesome book, solid movie
He Is Legend- awesome rock band
We Are Legend- awesome NFL franchise that is the Ravens

Yup, the thread title follows some good examples :)

The team's leadership I'n all phases (owner, front office, coaches, and players) could definitely make a dynasty come true.

I don't like to get ahead of myself with Dynasty talk.
But Ravens Brass are doing a fantastic job year after year of putting a solid team on the field.

There is a different feeling for me, now than in previous years.
Example : after 2000 Superbowl, we knew for years we had top 5-10 defense capable of playoff runs ( regardless of players lost in Free agency) but it always felt like well if the offense could just put up a couple of TDs.

Last couple of seasons I've felt we had enough offense to beat anyone but boneheaded play-calling caused erratic play at times.

Huh? We already have a dynasty, ever since Harbaugh and Joe came into town. Winning the superbowl merely cements it. The only other teams that have rivaled our success are the Packers and Patriots... though the 49ers may be our biggest rival from now on.

Stoolsberg is finished whenever Ben retires or is forced out due to injury.

If you look at 'dynasty' teams from the past, they all won multiple Super Bowl championships close together. It was a solid decade from the first time the Ravens won to this past time. So I don't think we're 'dynasty' status yet, but we're definitely one of the top four teams in the league year after year.
