So the GM that traded for him not only decided his playing time, but also that McElroy would jump him on the depth chart.
Gotcha

Good point. You say Rex Ryan decided McElroy was a better choice than his playoff quarterback of 2011?

So you're saying they went from a playoff team to a bottom dweller because Rex Ryan made the decisions. So it's Rayn's fault?

That has nothing to do with picking McElroy over Tebow. Their GM did make bad decisions, and one was Tebow.

Isn't Woody Johnson the one who wanted Tebow? I know it was him or Tannenbaum. I can't remember which.

Good point. Is all that his fault? by the way he can throw the ball. I believe he threw for over 300 yards in a playoff game against Pittsburgh.

fair point... lol

Pit came in thinking they would just steam roll Tebow lol over confident

Idzik did do the right thing in releasing Tebow. Should have hired Hue Jackson as offensive coordinator. I am by far the biggest Hue Jackson fan I know. Under Hue's guidance Mark Sanchez would have lit up the sky with about 30 touchdowns. The running game would have few rivals. I'm glade Idzik didn't hire him that way we won't have to contend with Hue's offense in the AFC championship game.

Yep. As was Denver when they played us. :)

I feel sorry for the kid, I do.

In my opinion, had Denver kept him around, they would've made the playoffs again with that schedule filled with sub-.500 teams.

I agree.

Instead they totally screwed him over -  filled his head with the illusion he was better than he was, and that they were building an offense around him.

And Elway flat-out lying to everyone -"Tebow's our guy" - right up until the day he signed Manning and did a complete 180 on that offense's direction.

Then trading him to that quagmire of suckiness that is the Jets.

The kid's played with a lot of heart and character, and didn't deserve any of it, but the Ravens can't fix it.

If Tebow's career is in the toilet, I blame Elway a lot more than the media or the Jets. Just add it on to my multitude of resentments against the guy,

Don't want to go off topic here but I can't stop myself. Sept 5th is another day that we have the chance to again wipe that stupid smile off the stupid face of the only guy I hate almost as much as Bob Irsay. If only the Eagles would pick up Tebow and let him start Sept 29th and win. I would do the Tebow anywhere then. :) I'm talking about John Elway

No.. That was easily the Ravens Warriors Thread Earlier this year...

Not a single word in the OP's post made sense

I think the O's boycott thread trumps all

Not Manning. John Elway. This goes back a long way. Elway refused to come to Baltimore when he was drafted. Colts traded him to Denver for offensive tackle Chris Hinton and rag arm QB Mark Herman. Hated Elway ever since. Sorry bout the confusion. Edited my post for verification.

Just proves how stupid Jets FORMER GM Mike Tannenbaum is and why he was fired. Idzik isn't much better.

Okay, the Jets were stupid. Hard not to agree with that. So why hasn't any other QB hungry team (and there are lots of them) scooped this incredible talent up? Are all the GMs of all the other teams also too stupid to see what you and the Morale Majority do?

You can do that? Doesn't it defeat the purpose of the draft?

Only him and Eli Manning have done that though.

Also Bo Jackson. Forgot him at first.

*cough* only career 300 yard game *cough*
Also, terrible argument, plenty of horrendous QBs have had 300 yard games

You mean like Scott Mitchell? Cade McNown? Rex Grossman?

Said he'd go play baseball instead - he had offers.

Baltimore opted to draft him, then traded him to get what they could out of the deal, right?

Agree with Stan, total tool...

Morale Majority? Where did that come from? My original point is that teams are staying away from him for the perceived baggage created by media hype. Who's in charge? The media or the NFL? looks to me like the media is running things in this case.

His baggage is an illusion created by the NY media hell bent on covering up the ineptness of the Jets ownership and front office. If he came to Baltimore as a class act guy that he is all the crap will stop. Tebow has a very high football IQ. Compared to many run first throw second QBs he is by far the best I've seen.

I'm not sure I agree or disagree about Tebows football IQ, he may be good with the Xs & Os, film study etc ( I don't know never really read about it ), but if he practices poorly all the time something is wrong, high football IQ should mean that he learns quickly, can apply what he learns on the field and improve.

I still believe now and before he got his playing time in Denver that Tebow would be best as a TE, H-Back, Or FB.

It's not just the media.  While it's a major factor, it's the fact that he still thinks he can play QB.  If a team needed a QB that bad, they can get past the media.  Finding a common theme?  It's that he's not an NFL QB.  He may be one of the greatest college players in history, but he doesn't have the arm strength or accuracy to succeed in the NFL.  He's good at running, which is why he should strongly consider moving to FB or TE if he wants to continue his career.

Did they do it in a playoff game against a defense like the Steelers'? Nope.
