Sign Tim Tebow

His baggage is an illusion created by the NY media hell bent on covering up the ineptness of the Jets ownership and front office. If he came to Baltimore as a class act guy that he is all the crap will stop. Tebow has a very high football IQ. Compared to many run first throw second QBs he is by far the best I've seen.

His baggage is not an illusion. He causes a media circus. He's not a good QB. He should be nowhere around this team.

Well, this made it pretty official.

I've seen everything now.

He's a gifted athlete but an abysmal QB.

He comes complete with his own 3 ring circus.

No thanks is too polite.

What would he do here?  That's why nobody is signing him - it's not a question of baggage or football IQ, it's simply because most GMs seem to have gotten the concept that if a quarterback can't throw the ball and complete passes consistently, it doesn't matter what he can do with his legs or how hard he works.

Sure, let's sign him. He can compete with Juice for the H-back spot. Or better yet, he could be our third RB.

if he's willing to change positions like TE or FB, sure, but from what i heard he doesn't, what if we convert him to DE, kind of like Viking's Allen, who was a OL. lol

Media circus begins in NY. I refuse to buy into it. Whenever a QB comes into the league with so called short comings I watch very carefully at his progress. Many factors play into a player's success. Tebow made many throws in Denver that astounded me. On the run throws, the most difficult. Many times with uncanny accuracy for a "nonthrowing" QB. Jets was one of the worse teams for him to go to, not by his choice I must add, with no ability to develope a quarterback. Shottenhiemer left and Jets' offense hit a new low in 2012. That is not Tebow's fault but he is carring the bburden.

I'm serious! Watch a few of his Denver games. He has a good arm. Tebow needs development in reading the defense.

It's not just the media circus. It's the supernova that would be caused by Skip's favorite player joining his least favorite team. I mean, who do you root for?

Considering that our assistant general manager Eric DeCosta was already asked about this by I believe Ryan Mink and he said it's not happening I think this topic can be locked. Not trying to be rude. There's no sense in this topic when our AGM already said it won't happen.

It's not just in NY. Tebowmania took effect in Denver too. It was full on coverage every time he ate a sandwich.

And to think he's a good QB is just a joke. His defense and receivers bailed him out so many times. He's not an NFL QB.

Under what circumstances did DeCosta say that. It'll cost us nothing now to bring him in. This guy has a much better arm than many realize. He plays like a Raven. I do see the liability in bringing him in however he's much better than the rag armed guys that we have behind Flacco now. I for one do not feel the least bit secure with them.

He said it during a video interview on this site. I can't link right now since I'm on mobile. I'm pretty sure it was right after the draft because it was after Tebow was released. It was at the very end of the interview.

Also this isn't my opinion. I'm just presenting the facts. Whether or not I like Tebow is irrelevant.

The problem isn't that he can't ever make accurate throws, it's that he misses easy throws far too often.  Even a broken clock is right 2 times a day.  He made many plays that astounded me too, mostly for how bad of throws they were.  Kyle Orton made some great throws in Denver(as Brandon Lloyd made some great catches in Denver), but was overall a mediocre talent that was inconsistent.  Yet, he was miles ahead of Tebow as a passer.

"Uncanny accuracy" is more than 46.5% for a season.  You simply can't argue that any player has shown accuracy in his career when Kyle Boller has a better completion percentage.  I believe that's against the terms of service to do so in a Ravens forum.  Not to mention, we have a SB winning QB, there is nothing for him here.

Tebowmania wouldn't have occurred if he'd not been somewhat successful. Remember this guy EARNED a huge following. Coaching plays a huge role in a player's development and for Tebow to fall into obscurity due to inadequate coaching is a crime. Instead we go for guys that have never played a down and we want to see them start. For what reason? Just because. I compare his potnetial to Steve Young. Prove otherwise my friends.

Yep, first thing that came to my mind when I watched that interview is that hopefully we could avoid all of this. Apparently not. But in short, he was asked if the Ravens could possibly be pursuing Tebow and he replied with something along the lines of "Don't worry about it".

If Tebow humbled himself and was willing to play TE then I would be with you. I guess a lot of GMs would be as well.

First time starting in the NFL with a rookie head coach for a QB considered a run first QB? What would you expect? All successful QBs have good offensive lines and receivers. I won't get into that. Tebow is much better than the backups we have. Let Flacco go down and you'll se how bad they are.

At ~16:20 in the interview:
Cerrato: "Tebow's not coming, is he?"

DeCosta: "Nah, don't worry about that."
