Question: will cap numbers be accounted for? Hope not

Lol, I highly doubt that. I don't think it's like that. My interpretation, which may well be wrong, is it's like a fantasy draft with current NFL players. That's all.

if theres room and you don't mind a Steelers fan im in

your not terribly active though, this could take months, I mean months. If your talking 24 hours a pick, 32 teams, 25 rounds, that's 800 days max. A seven round mock took us 6 weeks, so theoretically this would take us just over 21 weeks.

But for the forum mock, you wanted a good window for people to get their picks in since having the clock run out is unrealistic.

No one knows the trade value of a 25 round mock, so I'm assuming there won't be any.

Then the easy solution is to give everyone their own time slot. Say, everyone gets a half hour of the day where they can make their selection. Say between 8am and 12am the next day (16 hours total). The actual draft order can be based on who can contribute when. Then this would only take 25 days.

No. Everyone is welcome. That's what the mods say anyway. So you're good. He was just telling you it can be a time consuming process. It's a good point he raised.

I'm very interested in seeing how the first round of this mock goes. I would be genuinely interested in picking the back of the first just so I can observe.

Imo the first round will probably go something like this

Sizzle Mock Fantasy Draft Round 1

1. Aaron Rodgers

2. Drew Brees

3. Andrew Luck

4. Ben Roethelisberger

5. Calvin Johnson

6. Matthew Stafford

7. Colin Kapernik

8. Matthew Stafford

9. Joe Flacco

10. Matt Ryan

11. Joe Thomas

12. Ryan Clady

13. Russel Wilson

14. Eli Manning

15. Tom Brady

16. Larry Fitzgerald

17. Peyton Manning

18. AJ Green

19. RG3

20.JJ Watt

21. Geno Atkins

22. Jason Pierre-Paul

23. Von Miller

24. Aldon Smith

25. Matt Kalil

26.Clay Matthews

27.Richard Sherman

28.Darelle Revis

29.Jimmy Graham

30.Phillip Rivers

31.Julio Jones

32. Adrien Peterson

This should give you an idea. As we can see I project to be very quarterback heavy and a trend towards younger talent. This does leave many quality players on the board such as Haloti Ngata (due to age + injuries + retirement threats), Brandon Marshall (age), etc...

Edit: Meh listed stafford twice, but you get the point

I think you are over-valuing skill positions a bit. Especially with the way this board leans towards defense, I think there will be more defenders taken earlier.

I agree, I would be very surprised to see that many wideouts taken... but hopefully they will.  Leaves more important players to fall.

are we going to do snake style draft so so the random order evens out over the length of the rounds?

Also I am good with less than 32 teams if its takes too long to get enough commits

Perhaps, and maybe I am a bit biased, but I don't see many young defenders that are game changers without some serious question marks

Revis would likely go higher if it werent for the torn acl. He's the only real game changing corner in my rankings and even then its not like he is Deion Sanders game changing.

Ngata would easily make the first round on ability but retirement threats, nagging injuries, and getting older push him out

there are others but you get the point. Maybe people wont care about age and Im wrong, but when doing something like this, I feel that younger players will be heavily valued due to contributing the long term competitiveness of a franchise by creating a younger base.

It is going to be snake style unless I get the 1st overall pick.

The team doesn't really matter as you are drafting a whole new team.

Alright, I got ya. Well, that definitely works for me.

We currently have 27 signed up. I would like 32 total, but I would also like to get this going ASAP. '

Should we go ahead and set a start date?

That might be a bit too soon, as I would like to make sure everyone is on board that it is starting. Maybe Wednesday or Thursday?

To get the draft order, I was thinking random number generator with numbers 1-32 (if we get that many people).  Your number is your signup spot and if your number is the 1st to show up you pick first and so on.
