Ravnet

Pittsburgh @ New England

Patriots up 7-0 with the Steelers inside their 10. This is a big, big game and may very well decide our chances of making the playoffs at the end of the season.

I'll be content as someone is going to lose, but I'm rooting for the Patriots.

This does not pertain to the Ravens. I made a thread in the "Other NFL Teams" section as I believe the mods would move this anyways.
it does so the ravens need the pats to win so we can keep up in the division race how does it not have anything to do with the ravens
I just thought that the mods would move it... Anyways, a Patriots/Steelers game is not news about the Ravens.

I dont see why they wouldnt have allowed it to stay in GD. Atleast while the game is on. They actually posted Steelers/ Redskins to the top of the GD forum.

I think the Steelers are shaken up a bit by that early scare of a fumble (which they retained) on that opening kickoff. The fact that Roethsliberger threw a pick only a few plays later, and gave up a TD early, is getting to them.

And there's been quite a few passes that Roethlisberger almost had picked off. Add to that all the missed plays the Patriots had that could've easily been big gains, and Pittsburgh might be in a mental hole.

The thing about Pittsburgh, though, is that they can let the other team dominate them as long as it's kept close. They seem to always get breaks and big plays at opportune times. In todays game, for example, the Patriots are clearly beating the Steelers on both sides of the ball, yet it's only a four point game.

I'm really tempted to take a nap right now (all that turkey's getting to me), and hope to wake up to a New England win in a couple of hours.

It's worth it, this is a boring game.

This is the type of game that Pittsburgh lives for. They're so damn good in close games and I can see them pulling ahead late today. It's amazing that they can always keep games close in the first half even after being dominated.

And the Patriots are now throwing the game away. They get a goal line stand only to fumble the ball inside the ten.

If they only go down by 13 I wouldn't call it over, but it's going to be very tough. The fact that the stadium is so wet somewhat negates home field advantage and plays to Pittsburgh's strength.

Let's see, Pittsburgh just got another turnover. It is 20 to 10 in the third quarter. Barring some weird happening, the Steelers may walk away with a road win in New England. If the Steelers don't win this week, don't sweat it, they play Dallas next week and that is a good chance for a Steelers lost. Besides with the Ravens and Colts winning, and with the Dolphins and maybe the Patriots losing this is a big help when it comes to the wild card race. Let's worry about the division when the Steelers come to town on the 14th. FG by Pittsburgh, I wonder if Matt Cassel can turn into Tom Brady and make a "Brady-like" comeback.

You have to be kidding me with these turnovers. We never get any help from other teams with Pittsburgh. This was one of our best shots at catching the Steelers.

I say at this point, we just start looking toward the Steelers losing to Dallas next week. The way the Steelers defense is playing there is no way Pittsburgh loses this game. Is that alright with everybody?

No, id like a Patriot comeback.

They did it on the ravens.

-We don't want the wild card. Getting the sixth seed means that we'd have to go into Pittsburgh as the sixth seed and never get a home game.
-Pittsburgh losing to Dallas doesn't mean anything as we're going to lose to the Cowboys as well, which leads us back to square one.
-This was the Ravens' chance to catch up as we had a gimme game while they were on the road against a tough team. If we had tied it all up today our head to head would've given us the chance to take a decisive lead.

This is essentially a three possession game if/when Pittsburgh puts up another 3.
