Short sleeved jerseys?

8 posts in this topic

hey guys,
i love american football and the ravens, but i'm from italy so i can watch 'em only on tv and i have a question that bugs my mind:
i wanted to buy a raven jersey but i saw two kind of jerseys that are very different one another...
the jerseys that you find on the stores have these long sleeves...
while i saw a jersey that has very short sleeves(and i saw it on suggs and bigMac all the time)... what's the difference between those two?
is that with the shorter sleeves the so called "on field" or what???

i wanted to put on the images of those jersey, but for some reason... i'm not allowed...

The short sleeve jerseys you're referring too are tailored for the players only. They take the sleeves off so its easier to bring your arms up to catch the ball high over your head and it also feels better personally. Unfortunately they don't sell jerseys like that to the public. But if you so baldy want it that way you can take it to the cleaners like I do, cut the sleeves and put the elastic in them. I only cut roughly 3/8s of the sleeve and put the elastic in the bottom where the black is. Hate the hanging sleeves as you can see.

Not quite sure what you are referring to. Some players role their sleeves under their shoulder pads, if that's what you're talking about. You could also be talking about the difference between nike and reebok jerseys. If you can't post the pics, can you post a link?

I believe its tailored only because I was watching some training camp show and I saw them go to the person who deals with jerseys in their facility. Basically they'd go after practice and have the sleeves pulled in more or the elastic in the waist. Every player has their preference. I could be wrong and maybe they do come like that and they alter them from there. But either way it's only for the players. There are some ppl who sell game worn jerseys like this on ebay, but prepare to empty your wallet if you buy one.

I think the show may have been on WBAL and it was Ed Carroll's wife Flacco's rookie year, what stuck with me is she sewed Joes socks to his pants so he wouldn't get fined lol She was also explaining other modifications too
