Excited about Brandon Myers on the Giants!  They should be able to utilize his myriad talents a lot better than OAK.  Also keep an eye on Martellus Bennett in Chitown.

I like Meyers with Eli but cutler is allergic to tight ends so I wouldn't put much stock there. I am actually not excited about any tight ends relative to where they might be drafted outside of possibly Jared cook and rob housler.

Hopefully, Trestman will not let Cutler completely waste another TE.

I have been liking Housler as a sleeper since they signed Palmer. But he is losing sleeper value quickly. People seem to be talking about him a lot lately. Doesn't hurt that he is doing well in camp.

In theory, Myers sounds great. But Palmer dumped off a lot of short passes to him, making him a ppr monster. He won't get as many looks because the Giants (Eli) utilize their outside receivers better.

The Giants would however like to get him downfield more, but who knows how he'll fare.

He should also get more red zone opportunities.

Was actually thinking that if there was ever a year to actually consider Jay Cutler, it would be this year

"This year will be different."  I get stuck thinking that thought about players over multiple years.  There are a few players I do that with, Cutler being one of them.

But I've also been that way with Crabtree.  Every year since his rookie year I've drafted him on the majority of my teams.  Thinking this will be the year.  Last year it finally held true and he help me win a fantasy league and get to the finals in another with his late season play.

So maybe it is the year for Cutler.  Dammit!!!

Cutler had some good starts early last year bt got worse and worse. I think there are way too many quality qbs available this year to take a risk on him again.

I'm keeping Cutler in my QB league for depth behind RG3 so hopefully. I've always felt that way with Dez, Eli and Ryan Matthews. Matthews is a bust though

Drafts are falling really weird this year, without going into the details.  It's going to be an interesting fantasy year.  Maybe I'll post some of my mocks after the forum draft leagues, but I don't want to leak any targets or strategy beforehand.

I'm addicted to mock drafting.  Just takes a while to get used to.  Personally, I like the way drafts seem to be going.

QBs aren't going as high as last year, their more strewn out as well.  Same w/ TEs.  But there is definitely a cliff at both of those positions before you get to the high potential guys.  RBs are tough as always, but you can get some decent names in the middle of the draft.  WRs have an elite top, baffling middle, and tons of potential late.

Runningback also has a couple of sleepers

Agreed.  Which is nice.  There are a lot of iffy RB situations around the league, its making guys drop.  If you pick the right one, you've gotten yourself a steal.

What about this years' Defenses?

If I had a top 3 pick, it'd be between Peterson and Brees. If I got Brees, I'd be doing that with the idea of getting Graham to go along with him. That seems to be the most legit QB/WR/TE combo out there that I can think of right now.

Matt whatshisname to Julio would be good. Romo/Bryant would be better. Cutler/Marshall wouldn't be bad since neither of those 2 would go real high...but Cutler is who he is and even w/the new coach/coordinator I don't know how much I trust him

I generally try to avoid starting a QB and WR/TE from the same team.  If they have a bad game, your whole fantasy team will take a massive hit.  Keep your eggs in multiple baskets.

What about this years' Defenses?

Baltimore, Houston, Cincy. I picked up Baltimore in '06 because I knew Air McNair was going to be the difference maker and they were like 2nd in fantasy scoring for me that year!

Don't really care.  I don't rank or think about defenses.  They change so much every year.  Personally I prefer whoever has the best matchup come week 1.

I'm awed by your analytical tactics! :p

That's a steep price to pay for Brees.  I've gotten him in the 3rd round on a few occasions.  I rarely see him go in the 1st.  Unless it is a 2 QB league.

Who do you draft first, Ks or Ds?

I think there are combos that you want to have. Notice I only named 3. Most leagues allow you a max of 3 WRs so you have to diversify smart vs diversifying for the sake of diversifying

You must have never ever had Reggie Wayne/Peyton Manning ever in your Fantasy career. Most people who have had that combo are believers

He's gonna be much better this year with Payton back in charge.  Not to mention Graham's healed his wrist.

Too bad they play on separate teams now! :p  Manning and Thomas could be nice, though.

You can plug and play a defense.  You can't a RB.  But I'm for anybody who wants to reach for a defense because they think they'll be the best.  More skilled guys for me.

For me the last two rounds go Defense and Kickers.  That's been my method for the past 10 years.
