LB John Simon

But I am a genius scout :P JK(just look at what Streeter has done)

Simon had a hell of a game yesterday. JJ 2.0?

Or is that Upshaw? I'm confused :gaah:

This is a good problem to have ;)

I can't call him JJ 2.0. So far, he looks way better in coverage and pass rushing than JJ. I'm not too sure who Simon reminds me of. He reminds me vaguely of James Harrison.

Wow now everyone seems to be with my guy.  I told you he could play.

I've been on the John Simon train from the start. I was stoked when he drafted him. I thought it was a steal in the 4th round.

Also, I wanna get his jersey, but I get the feeling he won't keep 47. Hopefully he gets 94. Or Adrian Hamilton decides to switch to 94 and Simon takes 54.

I strongly suspect Adrian Hamilton will be gone soon, so I'm sure Simon will have the option of 54 or 94.

I feel as though Hamilton will be headed for IR, unless his wrist is determined to be healed in a few weeks.  Then, he might actually make the 53.  I don't think it's a wrap on him just yet.

Actually saw on Berry's Twitter that Hamilton is in a nice little sling, so you may be right.  All the way to the left.

In my opinion, there is too much upside to get rid of him. I think he heads to IR.

I agree, he is a beast in the making.

He got that spin move he always uses.   That might catch on later on, he needs more than that.

Yeah, he needs more than that one technique. That's his go-to move whenever he gets stonewalled. He's not ready to be even a steady 3rd down pass rusher like Kruger, but he'll get there.

Kruger took several years to develop, although part of the delay wasn't of his own making. Simon seems to have a work ethic and determination that may accelerate his growth.

I compared Simon to Kruger in this thread a while ago due to their great hustle and prodominately a pass rusher. I did some research and it turns out Simon is more athletic then him despite being a lower draft pick. He had a broad jump that was a whole foot longer then Krugers which will be key in terms of initial burst of the LOS. I do see some James Harrison in his game like one poster said. I think he can be a poor mans James Harrison. With the way he was setting the edge against Gross. I will be keying in on Simon in this 4th pre season game, see if he out plays McPhee to be the situational pass rushing OLB this year.

I noticed Simon a lot last night.  Thought he never quit on a play.  At times he looks a little undersized, but he competes, like a mad man.

Lol mods need to change the header of this thread to something like "OLB John Simon" since this has essentially become a thread for that.

How about the generic "LB"?

Glad he switched over to number 94. That should look nicely when I get his jersey. Also Adrian Hamilton switched to 95 and Robert James took 54.
