Why would you have Smith throw it if Flacco can do the job better? It's too high risk to have a backup quarterback put in there throwing the ball downfield. I'm not trashing Smith, I think he's great, but Cam has explicitly stated that he doesn't want to turn it over.

Well, the way I see it, these plays are being used against bad teams NOW as [u]practice[/u] for when they're used against better teams LATER, when the offense is clicking on all cylinders.

We'll probably see a little more of it next season against quality teams.
