Win-Loss Predictions for 2013?

Bleacher Report is Fan Fiction-- people here could do a better job. They don't really have credentialed reporters. Anyone is free to make a guess.

In bleacher reports defense they've improved dramatically since their inception.  But they're still pretty low on the totem pole.  It's not like you can site them, but they have decent articles.

I think I had us at 12-4 or 13-3 before all of our free agent signs (Dumervil, Huff, etc.) - just call me a big believer in what Jim Caldwell is going to do for this offense.

We are about the same and we have a great time for the bye week etc. No long travels after the bye neither. Will be a great season. So hyped. If we take the Broncos in week 1 it will be awesome and if they take us to lightly and one of our "receivers" step up we could do just that. I think our defense will score some points this season which is a HUGE plus for us.

Yeah I really like the way our schedule set up - I'm actually glad we had to open on the road now.  After Denver we have 10 days off, two of our 3 away games are against Miami and Buffalo, and we play Green Bay at home, not to mention getting the Steelers away game in just before the bye week.  Also, just my opinion, we should be favorites in our last 6 games - only competition I'm worried about is Pittsburgh, which is at home, and New England, but Joe has owned the Patriots throughout his career.

receiver Anquan Boldin is gone, replaced by seventh-round pick Aaron Mellette

That right there is bleacher report's ineptitude in a nutshell.  Boldin is gone and he writes as though the WR we drafted in the 7th round is his replacement?  When Mellette may very well not even see playing time this year and he was drafted with that knowledge

We got so burned a couple years ago by someone starting a thread here and one of their 'journalists' took it and ran and it was a mess

I mean they're still bad, but they're more like Baltimorebeatdown or something like that then sort of the hot mess they used to be.

It does not exist anymore--someone started a thread about us trading to get Ndami Asmougha, well one of their writers made it sound like it was a done deal, cited Baltimoreravens.com and one of the national guys went with it, then checked HIS sources and found out it was false and the source was a message board thread on BR.com, of course blasted us and even Peter King kinda made fun of us in his column.
This happened right before we upgraded our software and there was so much traffic and we did not have all the cool bells an whistles we do now with the software, and the stupid thread that started the mess got driven to page 2 where it was not found until the damage was done. By that time the person that wrote the ' article' had ammended it so it looked nothing like the one that caused the poo storm and a lesson was learned-- Always look for 2 sources or someone that is a credentialed reporter and Bleacher Report is NEVER a primary source!

I actually like the fact that sites encourage people to write using real words and sentence structure, but it is not as credible as Aaron Wilson and Jason Butt, who are 2 guys that are physically at the Ravens complex and have contacts within the organization.

I was inspired to make this thread because of what I saw here. Now I know some people don't take BleacherReport seriously...

but the author, Ty Schalter, has the Ravens at 8-8...

behind the BROWNS at 9-7.

Do people really think that we will be bad next year? (Yes, I do think 8-8 is bad, for the Ravens at least)

In my opinion, I thought our team had upgraded since last year. Over free agency and the draft, we have completely bolstered our defense and I believe we will soon be putting the final touches on our offense, which could use some improvements as of right now.  I don't know what this guy was on when he was writing this. Without a doubt, I believe we will have a winning season and make it to the playoffs. I also think we will have the same or better record as we did last year without a doubt.  I see us winning somewhere between 10 and 13 games. I see our record going like this.

1. at Denver Broncos - L

2. vs Cleveland Browns - W

3. vs Houston Texans - W

4. at Buffalo Bills - W

5. at Miami Dolphins - W

6. vs Green Bay Packers - W

7. at Pittsburgh Steelers - L

8. at Cleveland Browns - W

9. vs Cincinnati Bengals - W

10. at Chicago Bears - L

11. vs New York Jets - W

12. vs Pittsburgh Steelers - W

13. vs Minnesota Vikings - W

14. at Detroit Lions - W

15. vs New England Patiots - W

16. at Cincinatti Bengals - L

I have us at 12-4. What do you think we'll have?

"Defensively, the Ravens did a good job replacing Ed Reed and Dannell Ellerbe with rookies Matt Elam and Arthur Brown—but there's no replacing Ray Lewis."

Maybe in terms of leadership yeah, but Arthur Brown should be much more effective especially in pass defense.
I think we'll go about 11-5, we'll lose a couple of road games which we should win, like we always do.
Don't know if this has been mentioned but it's interesting they have no AFC North teams going above 9-7... I think the Ravens, Bengals and maybe even Steelers could get at least 10 wins.

In Bleacher Report's defense, their primary task is NOT reporting. BR is an opinion based, columnist heavy media site as opposed to the objective reporting you see elsewhere. Nothing wrong with that, you just have to take it with a grain of salt.

Anyways, I see us at 12-4 right now.
