Win-Loss Predictions for 2013?

44 posts in this topic

I was inspired to make this thread because of what I saw here. Now I know some people don't take BleacherReport seriously...

but the author, Ty Schalter, has the Ravens at 8-8...

behind the BROWNS at 9-7.

Do people really think that we will be bad next year? (Yes, I do think 8-8 is bad, for the Ravens at least)

In my opinion, I thought our team had upgraded since last year. Over free agency and the draft, we have completely bolstered our defense and I believe we will soon be putting the final touches on our offense, which could use some improvements as of right now.  I don't know what this guy was on when he was writing this. Without a doubt, I believe we will have a winning season and make it to the playoffs. I also think we will have the same or better record as we did last year without a doubt.  I see us winning somewhere between 10 and 13 games. I see our record going like this.

1. at Denver Broncos - W

2. vs Cleveland Browns - W

3. vs Houston Texans - L

4. at Buffalo Bills - W

5. at Miami Dolphins - W

6. vs Green Bay Packers - L

7. at Pittsburgh Steelers - W

8. at Cleveland Browns - W

9. vs Cincinnati Bengals - W

10. at Chicago Bears - L

11. vs New York Jets - W

12. vs Pittsburgh Steelers - W

13. vs Minnesota Vikings - W

14. at Detroit Lions - L

15. vs New England Patiots - W

16. at Cincinatti Bengals - L

I have us at 11-5. What do you think we'll have?

I think we'll be in the ball park of 10-6 or 11-5. On paper we should be able to beat a lot of teams, but that one missed tackle can swing a game and you don't really know where that'll come. Injuries don't make things any more predictable either. I might go over the schedule in more depth later, but I think 10-6 or 11-5 sounds about right.

Think its more likely we lose to Detroit or Minnesota than the Bears.  Detroit is a coin flip, never know if the unstoppable offense is the team that shows up or the Matt Stafford throw for 500 yards and 3 INTs with a fumble team shows up.

At this point I just don't want to watch AP if its against Baltimore.  That dude is other worldly, there's literally no words to describe the absolute animalistic devastation he reigns on defenses.

Wow lol. That dude deserves to be fired or whatever they do over there.

I don't have an exact number but I think we're a 10 plus win team. I think 11 wins the division. Let's just get hot around December-January and we'll be good.

Bleacher Report is a self-fulfilling prophecy of trash. Only a garbage site/writer would predict the Browns to win the AFCN... along with Chicago going 10-5.

They become featured columnists. The next step after that is getting paid.

Well with predicting the Browns to have a better record then us, I believe he is a featured idiot.

....which means he should be getting paid soon.

Actually I'm gonna agree with you with Detroit. I'm going to change it to a loss because it is so unpredictable. I think they will be able to beat us now that I think about who they picked up. I feel like they're going to have a good year. But that is if Matt Stafford shows up, like you said. As for Minnesota, if we can shut down the run game, which I feel like is very probable, we can control and beat them.

When I see articles like that I just rub my hands together and smile. I hope we are underdogs for every single game we play next year. As for the predictions, 15-1. I was gonna go 16-0 but I wanted to keep it realistic. The one loss is against the um, the Bills.

I will go with:

1. at Denver Broncos - L

2. vs Cleveland Browns - W

3. vs Houston Texans - W

4. at Buffalo Bills - W

5. at Miami Dolphins - W

6. vs Green Bay Packers - L

7. at Pittsburgh Steelers - L

8. at Cleveland Browns - W

9. vs Cincinnati Bengals - L

10. at Chicago Bears - W

11. vs New York Jets - W

12. vs Pittsburgh Steelers - W

13. vs Minnesota Vikings - W

14. at Detroit Lions - W

15. vs New England Patiots - W

16. at Cincinatti Bengals - L

my guess is 11-5 with a freakout by fans from weeks 6-10, with the bye in week 8 only heightening the two back to back losses

Looks decent but those losses to the Lions and Bears are Maybe's right ?

Yes. It depends on how those teams are looking. Also, a few of our wins are maybe, like against Denver and Minnesota. I feel like we can beat them, but it depends on how our team is. If were not ready by the first game, I don't think we would win. If we can't shut down Minnesota's run, I don't think we would win.

Same except I say we'll be 13-3 cause we're gonna beat Chicago and Detroit.

Bleacher Report is Fan Fiction-- people here could do a better job. They don't really have credentialed reporters. Anyone is free to make a guess.

I think 12-4 will be our record, although anywhere between 11-5 and 14-2 is within range. We have the best team in the division. I see us going 5-1 or 6-0. NFC North is good, but I honestly think we can sweep them. AFC East is trash other than NE. We have their number and that game is at home so 4-0 against that division. The only losses I potentially see are at Denver, at Cinci, GB, and NE.

Technically yes, but I expect that the week 17 game will mean little to nothing for our standing and we play backups. But I do think we will struggle with them even if it is an important game.

If freaking Manning and Brady couldnt beat us when the season was on the line, I'm certainly not going to lose sleep over Stafford and Cutler

I think I had us at 12-4 or 13-3 before all of our free agent signs (Dumervil, Huff, etc.) - just call me a big believer in what Jim Caldwell is going to do for this offense.

Wow i have us at 12 and 4 and losing to Denver which is just because they are at home, opening game etc etc. Split with both Cincy and Pitt and a loss to Green Bay. The fan in me wants to say 14-2 and sweep the Steelers and kill the Broncos though LOL

For some reasom beating Brady seems not to be the task it seemed to be a year or more ago. In my mind we beat him the last 2 times we played them and our Defense should be much improved this season and Tom should be on his back a lot more this go round.

1. at Denver Broncos - W - As good as this offense will be, the defense is bear outside of Von Miller. We should be able to go blow for blow

2. vs Cleveland Browns - W - Cleveland

3. vs Houston Texans - L - The defenses will be a push but the heavy run game will expose dumervil. The offense will obv be much weaker than that of the Texans.

4. at Buffalo Bills - W - Bills offense is severely lacking. Defense has some major holes too.

5. at Miami Dolphins - W - This is a toss up, but Miami doesnt have the weapons on offense to deal with our D. I feel that it will be an ugly game tho.

6. vs Green Bay Packers - W - This packers offense has taken steps backwards in the last year and has shown some injury probs. In addition, the offensive line has ? marks. Defense should win this one.

7. at Pittsburgh Steelers - L - We split

8. at Cleveland Browns - W - Cleveland

9. vs Cincinnati Bengals - W - Cincy has improved, but we have their number

10. at Chicago Bears - L - an ugly battle overall, but the bears edge this one out.

11. vs New York Jets - W - another ugly game but its the jets at home so auto-win

12. vs Pittsburgh Steelers - W - We split

13. vs Minnesota Vikings - W - Vikings upgraded their D but AD isn't going to be enough.

14. at Detroit Lions - L - This is just a case of Detroit putting up a million points due Megatron being Megatron and we can't keep up.

15. vs New England Patriots - W - this team has taken major steps backwards and should have injuries by now.

16. at Cincinatti Bengals - W - Finishing at Cincy for the third year in a row? We have their number but we may choose to rest guys at this point.

Record: 12-4 or 11-5 (depending on if we rest guys.
