Rookie jersey numbers?

except Elam might actually see the field.

Can you really say that Jimmy is a bust? Or let me ask you this, was Jimmy highly touted coming out of the draft? Yes. We thought the sky was the limit for him.

People are way too hard on Jimmy Smith.

I hope Brown changes his number to 54. I could less but if I had a choice I would want 56 or 54. If he keeps it at 59 I will be okay with that as well. For me it's less to do with the number and more to do with its significance. 54 would have his old college number of 4. 56 would be where we drafted him.

I dont think Jimmy is bust and I in no way shape or form want him to be a bust. All I am stating is that Elam will probably be more impactful early in his career.

I can't wait to order a Brown jersey. If he changes his # I'm gonna be pissed

Then wait to order his jersey to make sure he doesn't change it.

I agree, 54 or 56 would suit Brown better.

This really doesn't have anything to do with jersey numbers, but I really want that grey polo Elam is wearing in his opening press conference. I saw one in the ravens store, but it was a zip up. Any help?

I have to agree. That Nike ravens polo was pretty fresh.

I know I will get negged.. But I would retire #52 and #75... I would be open to giving out #20 just for the fact that Ray and Ogden were Ravens for life. Ed Reed chose money over his legacy in Baltimore. There will be #20 jerseys with "REED" on the back with a Texan logo on it this season.. So I wouldn't retire it IMHO.

I still respect him to some degree, but I guess I can agree that we don't owe him that big an honor now.

The sky IS the limit for Jimmy. For whatever reason - inconsistent play, injuries, etc - he has not capitalized on it but he has all the upside in the world. Great size, speed, and he generally sticks to his man like glue but is slow to play the ball and has been known to bite on double-moves.

I can understand why no one will wear #52 being that he's the best that ever played the position but they should give somebody #20 since he didn't want to wear it for us anymore!

Alright, a lot of these numbers will need to be changed so this is my prediction..

1) Once Adrian Hamilton gets cut (he will end up on PS but during the time he is cut) Arthur Brown will switch to #54.

2) Brandon Williams sticks with #98.

3) Mike McAdoo gets cut and John Simon gets the #94.

4) Jensen sticks with #77.

5) Aaron Melette sticks with #80.

6) Kyle Juszczyk sticks with #40.

7) Lewis-Moore goes on IR, so he stays with #67 for at least this year.

8) When Damien Berry gets cut (same thing as Hamilton as far as a potential PS but while off the team) then Elam gets #28.

A few other things I'll predict..

- If Bryan Hall ends up on the team or on PS, he will wear #59 (If Hamilton doesn't get it)

I agree with all of those except for Elam, I think he's going to stick with 31. That's just my opinion tho

He probably looks better as a 26 and will be carving out his own niche.

IMO, numbers play a huge role in psyche. 31 would have drawn obvious comparisons to Pollard while Elam is a far different player.

I really like Hamilton. I hope he makes the team, but I'd rather see him in 59 and Brown in 54.

these numbers won't be settled until the start of the season when the final roster is announced, some numbers will change shoulders a few times in between now and then

Wait until the first game. Once they've played under a number, they usually keep it, at least for that year.

Wonder how many #31 Elam jerseys are floating around lol.. That would be an unfortunate purchase and why I'm waiting to the regular season to get an Elam or Brown jersey

Hey, Josh Bynes made the winning Super Bowl tackle. I think he deserves to keep his 56 lol.

That's Hamilton's number. Now he could very well be cut or take a different number. I believe his college number was 53. That's Jameel's number.

We'll see what happens I guess. Not sure Brown changes his number. He seems to be the kind of guy who honestly doesn't care.

I think Hamilton could be a major sleeper. He had 22 sacks in 2011 at Prairie View A&M. It may be SWAC, but that's still impressive.
