The worst thing about pulling off a good draft...

Sure. But I don't see how anyone disproved my original post. We don't have viable receivers opposite of Torrey next season. Do I want Doss to prove me wrong? Of course. I want my team to win. But I have my serious doubts about the guys we have been developing. Torrey is not a proven #1 WR either. He was inconsistent from game to game last regular season, so even he will have to step up.

When was the last time a team with a true number one receiver won the Super Bowl?  Cruz/Nicks was probably the closest thing to it.

So it's a bad thing to have one now? The Packers had very good depth at WR and so did the Steelers.

Before asking that, we should ask where do we draw the line in assessing what makes a WR a "true #1". Physical tools, system and production all have to be considered.

No, but it's not such a big deal to have one.  It's not the number one thing to win games.  A good quarterback who can spread the ball around is what wins Super Bowls.  Not true number one receivers.

We have solid depth.  Maybe need to add one more body.  Receiver is like corner.  Depth beats having the the best in the league (though one in there is nice as well).

We drafted guys who you really need one.

The Patriots have survived for a while without a legit #1 WR. Randy Moss was the closest thing. You can argue Wes Welker was their #1, and I'd agree to an extent, but I think he benefited a lot from Tom Brady as well. Interesting how he goes to the Broncos, with another great QB. He didn't do that well in Miami.

I'm just saying. It's strange how the Pats have had all these cast-off WRs without a real legit #1 guy and when their WR cast-offs go elsewhere, they just don't play the same.

And that's where I disagree. Yes, you need to have a great QB, that can spread the ball around and Joe is that, but you need viable targets to throw the ball to.

If you think, that we have guys, that can make up for the loss of Boldin, than I understand how you disagree with me, but whether I like it or not, we will find out in next season. The Ravens are certainly looking for WR everywhere among the UDFAs. Food for thought, I guess.

Gronkowski is the best TE in the league (no offense to Pitta) and even if you disagree, he's atleast be in the top 5. Also, the Pats have 6 victories garanteed in every season, thanks to the Jets, Bills and Dolphins.

Lol. Okay, listen.

We have Ray Rice, All-Pro, Pro Bowl RB who has proven to be able to catch the ball with some nice hands. He drops some, but he's usually pretty good to say the least. I think he could be used in the slot as a WR similar to how Wes Welker was used.

We have Dennis Pitta, a really good receiving TE who just hasn't got it as a blocking TE yet. That's OK. We just signed Furstenburg who is a good blocker (seen some Terps games; he's a good blocker) and not a bad receiver but needs work there. We drafted KJ, who's a Swiss Army knife of a TE/FB hybrid that can block and catch the ball. He can work the slot. We have Tandon Doss, another guy who has the speed to play outside or in the slot. We have Tommy Streeter, who would be a nightmare in the slot against those linebackers or even as a WO.

The point I am making is we have a lot of question marks, but it's really not that many. Why can't we use 2TE sets with 2WR? I mean, come on now. This is getting a little out of hand. Look at this formation:

Smith | Pitta | LT | LG | C | RG | RT | Juszczyk | Jones (9 Players)

Joe Flacco

Ray Rice

There's your 11 men. You can even put Pitta between Juszczyk & Jones. Hell, you could put Ray Rice between Smith & the LT if you want. There's so many possibilities here.

Smith, Pitta, Rice, Jones can all catch the football. Yeah, Jones' had some drops. But he also made some nice plays, too. Will we miss Boldin? Maybe, yeah. But we still have Pitta, Smith, & Rice. We still have Leach for now. I'm just not ready to mail it in yet. We have Dickson, too; though his hands have been less than pleasing, lol. Ed "3rd-Down" Dickson, hahaha.

The problems at WR are not a result of this years draft, they are a result of all the drafts we had. The Ravens FO, as good as it is in building up defenses, is a failure at creating respectable passing offenses.

We never had a star WR. It's nothing new. The only thing the Ravens organisation does is get players, they thing could develop into good WR.

Flacco didn't get signed, because he matched Joe Montanas playoff record last season, he got signed for winning in spite of an average cast of receivers in almost every regular season, while Ozzie kept constantly working on the defense.

We won the SB without that "star" receiver. Some people just want to find reasons to complain.

Or you could be the Jets, who have a QB battle between Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith to look forward to...

I'm perfectly happy being us.

Torrey Smith came out and said Keenan Allen and Tandon Doss are the same player.

Good enough for me.

What he's trying to say is that they literally are the same player. Tandon Doss pulled a Leon Sandcastle. Lol, silly Tandon.
