what did we do with moe lee

Sounds like he is a try out player. He can still be signed. Just wait and see. We have a few if those guys. Tucker was a try outlast year.

Who wants to bet Holloway goes on IR? Lol after reading the article on the home page I am convinced. He'll be a guy who gets a mysterious injury just like McAdoo in 2011.

Multiple people will get "injured" from the last preseason game.

Yep. Seems to be our"bad luck".

I would actually say the opponent is intentionally injuring our players.

I guess we need to examine the roster and make our own depth charts.  The major competitions will be at WR and TE.  Pitta and Dickson are due to be the main TEs, but who will assume the role as blocking TE.  Furstenburg has a great chance to make the team.  Juice will make the team on ST alone, but he may be used on passing downs in the backfield or even in the slot on occasion.  The addition of McKinnie makes the OL less a question mark coming into training camp.  There will be plenty of competition to push out some of our backup linemen.  Taylor will be in competition with Hainey and the rookies for backup QB.  Rainey will once again make us wonder if he can beat out Allen who excelled on special teams.  His strength would be to challenge for punt returner.  I look forward to camp again this year.

Over the years I have wondered if the players fake injuries themselves to stay on the team to develop. Or maybe not fake the injury but make it out to be bigger than it is.

I think they get minor injuries like a football players that wouldn't keep them from playing but the team uses that as an excuse to IR them.

Probably. The NFL really needs a developmental league. Give a team so many guys they can designate as developmental. Especially with draft picks.

That was part of the idea with nfl Europe. No other league seems to last. Although I think if one were to run may-August in current nfl towns it could be a hold mine for the league, the owners and allow players to develop.

The NBA and MLB have gotten it to work but not the NFL.

Football's dangerous. I doubt many people will risk all of the dangers of pro football with very few of the benefits that would come with the developmental league. If you get injured in the developmental league, you may have lost your chance at the pros for peanuts compared to what you'd make as depth in the NFL.

You'd also miss out on getting to learn from the great. If I were a young linebacker, I'd damn sure want to spend my formative years in the tutelage of Ray Lewis rather than some nobody in the developmental league.

I agree that football is dangerous but the rest of it is a bunch of crap. What about all the college kids that put it on the line for a chance to make it to the pros. They don't even get peanuts. How about all the semi-pro teams thoughout the country. There are still alot around that play for the love of the game and nothing else but peanuts.

These are mostly going to be guys that wouldn't otherwise make a squad.

I didn't necessarily mean a developmental league a la NFL Europe or whatever. I'm thinking more like a developmental aspect of the Ravens, where they can have say 22 players dedicated (11 on 11, defense & offense) or even less. I'm just throwing out arbitrary numbers right now. It could be different from the practice squad. You could just say that if a developmental player is ever activated, they can never return to the developmental aspect of the team. That would absolutely discourage teams from abusing that aspect. Furthermore, you could make a time limit, such as the practice squad. You could further prevent abuse by placing an age limitation. After all, it's a bit ridiculous to have a 26yo developing.

That's one thing. I think there's merit in the idea of a league for people who can't make the big leagues. I just don't think that a league devoted to developing players will attract enough players to be feasible.

This may be true but it doesn't mean that there would be no interest in a developemental sqaud for each team as Grim was referring to

That is another idea which could be good, but it will come down to money. The teams won't want to pay these guys much and the players union won't want teams to be able to keep more people off the open market. It would be a battle for sure.

The league I was mentioning would make money for everyone involved.

Kenny Tate available? Wish he came out two years ago, probably would have been a first round pick. Guy was a Meast at Safety.

Knock one off of the list already.  They had to clear a roster spot for McKinnie.

RavensInsider Ravens are cutting undrafted rookie free agent running back Ray Holley (Louisiana Tech), according to a source.

Must have signed meshak Williams, he said on twitter something to that affect 2 mins ago

^ Or that.  Another cut will have to come when McKinnie officially signs.  Just assumed this was that move, but hey, I guess I was wrong!

Good.  Definitely a guy I really liked.  Even though I liked Holley, he was never going to get a shot here.

As a senior in 2012, he improved upon his junior statistics and became one of the most prominent defensive players in the Big 12. He recorded 45 tackles, including 17 for loss and eleven sacks to go along with three forced fumbles. He was named to the All-Big 12 first team.
