Colin Kaepernick is #81? What? Can we atleast see him play for one full season? Wow, he got the loaded 49ers to a SB, Alex Smith almost did that the season before. Argh. That 24/7 Kaep lovefest is really annoying to me.

As much as I think Joe should be a Top 10 player, I think he'll land around #12.  As much respect as he earned this past post-season, I just don't see the league jumping onto his bandwagon wholeheartedly enough to get him THAT high... yet.

Its going to tick me off to no end, but I betcha' a nickle RG III lands higher than Flacco.

NOT THAT I AGREE BY ANY MEANS.

Atleast Pollard got some respect, which was long overdue, imho. Love the Elam pick, but I will miss BP and how he played against the Pats.

Love how they would take Polumalu right now over BP. You gotta be an idiot if you would take the current Polumalu over like half the other S's in the league.

AP: 1, PM: 2, AR: 3, TB: 4, JW: 5.

Haha, he means Adrian Peterson, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and JJ Watt. He was trying to get you all to guess which ones he was saying.

Surprised he wasn't higher with all the hype he gets

It's weird how the middle-aged players are phased out of discussion these days. It's always about last decade's superstars and rookie/second year wonders. Players in their prime are getting overlooked. Already on the top 100 - Miller, Polamalu, Woodson, Fletcher, Boldin, Steve Smith are all on the way down (even though Boldin had a great recent playoff run, he was definitely more top-100 worthy years ago). Then you have McCoy, Kaepernick, Harvin, Washington, Trent Williams - all 24 or younger. Really, players 26-30 should be cluttering the list but they're already underrepresented. All anyone cares about are former greats and predicting future greats without looking at the ones that are playing great right now.

a.) So, the first 10 are now known; your thoughts?
b.) Anquan Boldin is the first of 18 WRs on the list this year; who do you think is ahead of him?
c.) 90 thru 81 will bring 5 new faces, 2 more 2012 Ravens, and one 2012 49er; any guesses?

My answers:
a.) Pitta and Boldin, both ranked low in regards to their performances this past post-season.  Jones-Drew & Polamalu, you can argue till you're blue in the face, but for all intense practical purposes, IMO, I think they should not have been on the list.  That's just me.

b.) I do not see 17 other WRs ahead of Boldin.  Granted, this was the first time he was on the list and he's nearing the end of his career.  I can see Fitz's overshadowing continues.  Who else though? Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Roddy White, A.J. Green, Mike Wallace, Reggie Wayne, Wes Welker, Victor Cruz, Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones (???)... That's about all I can think of

I would think Pitta should be ahead of Heath Miller, but last year was a breakout year for him so I think that might be based on past rep.

Can't believe you suggested Jacoby Jones might be ahead of Boldin but then again, he's a return guy that plays WR...

Going to guess that they have Stevie Johnson, Eric Decker, Demariyus Thomas, Dwayne Bowe, Dez Bryant, Hakeem Nicks, Brandon Marshall, and Greg Jennings to go along with the list that you have. I don't think Mike Wallace should be ahead but he probably is. I don't think Michael Crabtree or Percy Harvin should be ahead but they probably are. Percy, however, does many other things though. That gets us to 17

Aldon Smith's a scrub. He mad.

Aldon Smith is a product of Justin Smith thus why he didn't exist in the SB. Dennis Pitta however was existent in the SB.

Watch the Pitta video. Aldon Smith sucks.

WOW!! 18 sacks is 18 sacks though. Saying he's a product of somebody else is like saying Lardarius Webb is a product of Ed Reed. I mean, I have said it all year long to the people who think P Freddie was such a beast that he was only mixing it up in the backfield when Suggs came back, HOWEVER, it's still one heartbeat.

Every era has a handful of gamewreckers who don't need another guy on the team to do their thing i.e. JJ Watt, Reggie White, Troy P, Suggs in his DPOY year, etc etc but P Freddie only got 9 sacks on the season I think and he had Haloti on his side, Ed Reed in the back. I'm not gonna say Von Miller needed Elvis Dumervill, cause Miller too is a game wrecker, but Von Miller needs somebody else over there.

Sucks is kind of strong. Now if you said Matt Schaub SUCKS, then I'm all on board with you ;)

I love how PFT is making a big deal out of the players voting Jacoby Jones ahead of Percy Harvin. So it's the best players of 2013 and yet because Percy is a name compared to Jacoby, he should automatically be higher? I'm sorry but Percy didn't help take a team to the Super Bowl did he, oh wait that was Jacoby.

Then again, the media will say anything to slight the Ravens since we took out their darlings in Manning and Brady in the playoffs.

Look at his production when Justin Smith was injured its pretty obvious.

Sure. But that goes for any defensive or offensive game plan. What would happen to Suggs without Ngata? Why did Houston go WR in 1st round? Why did Atlanta trade away the farm a few years ago to get Julio? What's the conversation been since we got Dumervill to go opposite Suggs? The other team now has one more thing to worry about and vice versa, when a guy goes down with injury, the other team has one less thing to worry about.

Or am I just blowing smoke?

Who knows if he'll even be that high. After Eli won the SB he was only #31. Remember that some voting was done before the postseason started.

There is a bit more to it than that. Aldon actually got quite a few sacks directly because of Justin when they run this stunt where Justin actually holds the OG and Aldon hits thd gap and has basically a free run at the QB. As soon as Justin went out, Aldon's production really suffered.

Like I said, wasn't disputing the absence of Justin Smith.

I'm just not ready to put him on par with Paul Kruger, and I'm definitely not ready to pass on him in every round of fantasy (Was in a league one season with 5 defensive players)

But I guess the collective point earlier may have been that he didn't have enough pass rush moves and to that I will then say Touche

I definitely agree he is a very good pass rusher but has benefited incredibly from Justin. He is still extremely young with room for improvement too. He's no Von Miller or Ca Wake tho.

Aldon Smith is freaking overrated in Madden lol

I really don't get why people quote PFT articles. Why are you even reading from that garbage site in the first place? And stop getting it views!! That one wasn't as bad but c'mon !!! Lol

And didn't people here complain that Suggs wasn't getting sacks in 2010 because he had no one opposite him? And doesn't Suggs get sacks on stunts opened up by Ngata? Aldon is a great pass rusher and deserves to be on the list. It doesn't matter who's around you, if you get almost 20 sacks in a season, you're good.

He's definitely good, but his sacks are inflated because of that specific play they run. It should really be a penalty on Justin but it never gets called. Aldon was on pace to shatter the sack record, then he gets 0 once Justin gets hurt. It's an extreme fall-off for anybody. He went from being the best pass-rusher in the league to just a guy. I never said he doesnt deserve to be on the list, but he benefits greatly from Justin Smith, more-so than any other sack artist in the league, by far.

He went from being the best pass rusher to a guy who got double-teamed and had a shoulder injury of his own.

Keep making excuses for him. He didnt get it done, and it wasnt because he was constantly double teamed either.
