They had Peyton on the list last year and he didn't even put on a uniform once. Granted, it did show how important he was to the team, but how can you be a top player when you didn't even play?

Because it's a projection for the upcoming year. Hence why Ray Lewis won't be on the list this year.

I mean, I get the whole "projection for the upcoming year" part of it, but it just seems silly to rank someone so high when you've nothing to go off the year prior.  Not taking anything away from Peyton or MJD -- did anyone expect the Broncos to do so well in Year One of the Peyton era? And who knows how MJD is going to be after an extensive injury.

Perhaps they should just change it to the Top 100 of (The previous season).

91. Troy Polamalu (S, PIT)

So, the first 10 are now known; your thoughts?

Anquan Boldin is the first of 18 WRs on the list this year; who do you think is ahead of him?

And 90 thru 81 will bring 5 new faces, 2 more 2012 Ravens, and one 2012 49er; any guesses?

One of them better be Marshal Yanda. He was snubbed last year.

My answers:

a.) Pitta and Boldin, both ranked low in regards to their performances this past post-season.  Jones-Drew & Polamalu, you can argue till you're blue in the face, but for all intense practical purposes, IMO, I think they should not have been on the list.  That's just me.

b.) I do not see 17 other WRs ahead of Boldin.  Granted, this was the first time he was on the list and he's nearing the end of his career.  I can see Fitz's overshadowing continues.  Who else though? Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Roddy White, A.J. Green, Mike Wallace, Reggie Wayne, Wes Welker, Victor Cruz, Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones (???)... That's about all I can think of.

c.) The five-new faces: Doug Martin (RB, TB), Trent Richardson (RB, CLE), Morris Claiborne (CB, DAL), Chandler Jones (DE, NE) and Matt Kalil (OT, MIN).  The two 2012 Ravens: Marshal Yanda (G) and Bernard Pierce (RB).  The lone 49er: Colin Kaepernick (QB).

Bernard Pierce shouldn't be on the list, he's a beast though. But he has to prove that he can stay on the field and do it with more carries. But shoot, I'd be happy regardless

Osemele would make sense though

O-Smelly?  I could see also.  BP was impressive for a rookie and I think he will seriously be biting at Rice's heels this year.  Last year, their YPC were the same and I think BP could easily step into a leading back role.  No offense to Rice, but his numbers early in the season were less than stellar, in his defense, he was being saved for the late season stretch.  But to see him drop the ball not once, but twice, in a post-season game -- made me a little uneasy.  If nothing else, BP will bring some great draft picks if we trade him away.

As for Osemele, as much as I think he could be on this list, if Yanda was overlooked last year, I don't see Kelechi on here this year.  Not to mention, they just said on Top 100 Reactions, this is not a Lineman friendly Top 100 this year (not that it ever is).

4 more Olinemen left that's crazy.

Lets take the O-Linemen out of the game and see how well the rest of those offensive players do. ;)

Wasn't Washington one of the guys that Arthur Brown was compared heavily to

Not sure, but if that is the case, then we got him at a steal then.

So, I'm assuming that has to be 4 from:

Nick Mangold
Joe Thomas
Alex Mack
Jason Peters
Either one of the Pounceys
Jake Long
Marshall Yanda
Duane Brown
Logan Mankind
Russell Okung

Can't think of anyone else likely to make the list

Watch the Pitta video. Aldon Smith sucks.

Anyway, I wonder how Joe will be ranked amongst the QBs. Any predictions? I think #4 behind Rodgers, Brady, and Peyton. Brees a close 5.

As much as I think Joe should be a Top 10 player, I think he'll land around #12.  As much respect as he earned this past post-season, I just don't see the league jumping onto his bandwagon wholeheartedly enough to get him THAT high... yet.

Aldon Smith is a product of Justin Smith thus why he didn't exist in the SB. Dennis Pitta however was existent in the SB.

I don't see him sneaking in front of Brees, as great as that would be considering this is the players voting, but I could see him behind Brees at number 5.  All I care about, as petty as it may seem, is that he's ahead of Matt Ryan.  I don't even care if they put Joe behind Eli and Ben, who have 2 rings each, but Joe better be in front of Ryan and any other ringless quarterback.

Dang I am going to miss Anquan !! :(

It's bittersweet, but I'm happy that he has a ring to retire with. Well deserved.
