With the draft in the books and the new UDFA class being called, I updated the previous roster. I hope we see the roster and see what type of moves will be made in the ongoing offseason and all.

Open Spots for 53 Man Roster (With Potential & Draftees): 0 spot

Open Spots for 53 Man Roster (With Above and PUP/Susp. Included): 2 spots

Conclusion:

Ozzie went true to his word that he was investing this draft to fix the middle of the defense by getting Matt Elam, Arthur Brown, and Brandon Williams with the first three picks. Also, Ozzie took advantage of the deep talent depth of the trenches by getting more players for the front seven and the offensive line. The 10 draft picks were wisely distributed to fill up the depths for most of the positions. The wild card from this draft I believe will be Kyle Jusczcyk who has the potential to fill the blocking TE spot and the FB, since we didn't address any TEs from the draft. Also, UDFA have some potential gems especially for the offensive line and tight end positions.

Good topic.

But, JUICE CHECK! goes out wide in the slot and catches quite a few passes for Harvard. Or, he did. And he's quite a damn good down-the-field receiver.

The biggest  knock on him is he went to Harvard. Had he done all that in the SEC he'd have gone in the 1st round. But, he didn't. He did it against ivy league competition, so we'll see....

I saw on espn that juice check (lol) was listed just as TE. I love what he brings though, I think he'll be a popular name mid season next year. As soon as people learn how to pronounce it lol

and ramon harewood...same story with reid

i would put jah reid in the bubble

his production on field matches oniel cousins minus staying healthy

We usually carry 8-9 OLmen, so there's a good chance they might stay on the roster for depth purpose.

We drafted Jah Reid with a 3rd Rounder and it's his time to shine now that we have to fill a OT spot.

We drafted him to man the RT.

However, that means we have to try Oher, KO, or someone else to man the LT.

Ricky Wagner has ups and downs, but his pedigree as a Wisconsin mauler could help him to move up the depth chart.

i just don't see the reason to keep jah reid or harewood when they couldn't stay healthy even for quarter of a season their whole NFL career.

Putting stock on either of them is risky.   Likelihood of them having a lengthy career is probably slim.

Yeah, that's true, but we are very thin on the OL Depth.

Let's say you don't want Reid or Harewood. That will leave us with 6 possible OL, with 5 starters. That means Ozzie has to fill the depth with either UDFA or Free agents. So my money says we keep Reid and Harewood cause of them knowing the system. Reid was a former 3rd rounder, so it's his season to shine, or be consider a bust.

Michael Oher - OT
Marshal Yanda - RG
Kelechi Osemele - OG/OT
Gino Gradkowski - OC

Ricky Wagner - OG/OT

Ryan Jensen - OC

Wouldn't McPhee belong in the LB section now?

He's still a hybrid where he will move around the DE,OLB, Nickel DT.

Dean plans to make all the players learn multiple positions so they can find their strong suit and keep the best players on the field and not go to the sideline due to scheme-defiency.

It still infuriates me that David Reed is on this roster and they paid him all that money he didn't earn or deserve.

I think there is some gray area with some of the draftees, being that Elam and Brown will both most likely be key players next year.

i really hope cody gets cut.  also, i think we're only gonna keep either reid or harewood, not both.  one of them will end up being cut.  they are too similar and neither can play LT, so they're basically the odd men out.  at least osemele and oher can somewhat play LT and wagner has experience as well.

i also see asa jackson getting a bigger role with chykie on the roster bubble.  even though chykie was a decent performer last year, asa is younger, more athletic, and more versatile.  chykie was a 25 year old rookie who doesnt tackle well and struggles against bigger receivers.

also, jameel might be on the roster bubble as well.  he is coming off the bad injury and we may cut him due to the amount of money we owe him, which he isnt worth.  plus, he wasnt very good last year, so he probably wont start anyways.  if rolando doesnt claim a starting role (which i think he's capable of), i could easily see bynes or mcclellan landing that job.  that would put jameel on the roster bubble.

quick note:  ozzie has been known to fill holes (especially LT) at the last minute.  therefore, if we sign someone like mckinnie right before training camp, there will probably be an expanded bubble.

Here's my rundown, based on the roster right now.

QB (2): Joe Flacco, Tyrod Taylor

RB (3): Ray Rice, Bernard Pierce, Anthony Allen

FB (1): Vonta Leach

WR (6): Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones, Tandon Doss, David Reed, Deonte Thompson, Aaron Mellette

TE (3): Dennis Pitta, Ed Dickson, Kyle Juszczyk

OL (9): Kelechi Osemele, Gino Gradkowski, Marshal Yanda, Michael Oher, Ricky Wagner, Ryan Jensen, Jah Reid, Ramon Harewood, Veteran C/OT

DL (7): Haloti Ngata, Chris Canty, Arthur Jones, Pernell McPhee, Marcus Spears, Brandon Williams, DeAngelo Tyson

ILB (4): Arthur Brown, Jameel McClain, Rolando McClain, Josh Bynes

OLB (5): Terrell Suggs, Elvis Dumervil, Courtney Upshaw, John Simon, Albert McClellan

CB (6): Lardarius Webb, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graham, Chykie Brown, Asa Jackson, Marc Anthony

S (4): Michael Huff, Matt Elam, James Ihedigbo, Omar Brown

ST (3): Justin Tucker, Sam Koch, Morgan Cox

Now, I added in a vet C/OT on the line because I just can't see the Ravens going in with that much inexperience as the backups.

These guys just missed the cut and could make the roster in place of some other people, but this is my sense as of now:

Tommy Streeter, LaQuan Williams, Terrence Cody, Chris Johnson

OL - I'm putting in McKinnie for one more year while I think Reid is waived.

I'll make some predictions while I am at it:

QB: Flacco, Taylor (2)

RB: Rice, Pierce, Allen (3)

TE: Pitta, Dickson, Juszczyk, Furstenburg (4)

WR: Smith, Jones, Doss, Reed, Streeter, Thompson (6)

OL: Oher, Osemele, Gradkowski, Yanda, Wagner, Jensen, Reid, Harewood (8)

K: Tucker (1)

LS: Cox (1)

Total Offensive Players: 25

DL: Ngata, Canty, Jones, McPhee, Spears, Williams, Tyson (7)

ILB: Brown, R. McClain, Bynes, Hall, McClellan (5)

OLB: Suggs, Dumervil, Upshaw, McAdoo, Simon (5)

CB: Webb, Smith, Graham, Brown, Jackson (5)

S: Huff, Elam, Brown, Levine, Ihedigbo* (May be replaced with Thompson returns from suspension) (5)

P: Koch (1)

Total Defensive Players: 28

Now you may wonder why I have 5 safeties & 5 corners. Huff can play CB. If there's an injury, he moves over. That simple. I think we will see 5 safeties make this team. I'm sure of it. I didn't include my man Jordan Devey (I think he may very well make the roster) or Jack Cornell, who I like a lot. But other than that, I like my guess here.

BTW, I think it's awesome we can have three Browns on the field, lol. Arthur Brown, Chykie Brown, Omar Brown. Hahaha.

What I noticed:

1. No Vonta Leach.  Does it really make sense to cut him if we don't need the cap?  I guess I just don't see any reason to cut him since we should be able to get a vet OL and maybe another position once Pollard comes off the books in June.

2. Offensive line.  I just can't see us going in with only 3 backups, all of which would be incredibly inexperienced.  I don't know if you're projecting FA signings or not, but I think a vet definitely has to come in.

3. Bryan Hall.  He's still PS eligible and learning the position.  I wouldn't be surprised if we gave him a year on the PS to fully learn the position.

4. Mike McAdoo.  Maybe it's just me but I've never been impressed with him, although there is very little to base this off of.  I guess I just can't see this one happening.

But hey, those are just my thoughts and a few things I found interesting about your roster.  I'm assuming you think Mellette will be the IR candidate of the year?  Also, Jameel is cut?

I wanted to gamble with Hall. With McAdoo, there seems to be something keeping him around this place. I don't know what, but I think we are going to try to get something out of him this year. His Achilles was unfortunate. I think his rookie year was a RS season, TBH. He actually reminds me of a less polished Ziggy Ansah, lmao. I know that has to be crazy. Hahaha. He has really nice height & physical attributes. He is a project similar to Harewood, and I think we will try to see what happens with him before cutting bait.

I think we will do something with Leach's money. We may not even sign any other FA, but I doubt that. I think that happens. I think it'll be an OL, maybe C/G or/& a G/T. We can always use the money for the extensions of Pitta or Art Jones--if Jones is in our future plans.

I already answered your other questions, I think? If I neglected any, let me know.

Yes, I think Mellette will be a RS rookie & Jameel McClain cut for cap/not being very good.

Updated with UDFAs

I like the potential gems for the offensive line.

Roger Gainers could be a dark horse to make the roster.

Top to bottom this might be are best roster of all time. At least top 3 (2000 and 2006)

Last year, we won the whole thing with a less-perfect roster.

We lost Webb, Lewis for couple months, and Suggs for the first 6 weeks.

Top Five Roster:

2000 Roster was a defensive-studded roster. (12-4)

2006 Roster was another talented defensive-oriented roster (13-3)

2011 Roster, I believe was one of the best, since we had a healthy defensive and a serviceable offense (12-4)

2012 Roster, I must say one of the most resilient roster due to the fact the team had to overcome mutiny, disappointment, injuries, coaching change, and a lot, but showed up for the playoffs. (10-6)

2010 Roster, Another talented roster, but kind of played second fiddle to the Steelers (12-4).

2013 Roster - Pretty excited due to the draft picks and free agent signing. This group will be the changing of the guards with Lewis and Reed gone and Joe Flacco taking the helm.

Even though the team fell short, I have to say the 2011 roster was our best roster overall.

I know it's blasphemous around here to say the 2000 or 2006 rosters aren't the top two, but they are no longer the best teams we've fielded. Say what you will of those defenses, but those offenses were the epitome of mediocrity. Our top two overall rosters so far have been 2011 and 2012. I fully believe that our 2013 roster will surpass those two.
