Welcome to Baltimore, Arthur Brown

I keep hearing the word "undersized" when it comes to Brown. Really? 6'0 241 is undersized? Ellerbe was only an inch taller and the same height, Willis is too. Bowman is the same height and weight. There's a good many linebackers in the NFL that measure in similarly. Not to mention Ray Lewis. This is the new prototypical size for the position.

To be fair to Sergio Kindle, he wasn't a flat-out bust. He fell down two flights of stairs in July, fractured his skull and was unable to attend training camp. He was then put on the non-football injury list. He didn't get activated until 18 months after he was drafted.

That fall really ruined his career. I mean, other players have come back from worse, and he's still young and his career is still in his hands, but he lost hearing and really got buried under veterans until it was too late.

He's still out there, and I wouldn't mind if we invited him to camp this off-season.

Yes, he was a complete bust. No matter the reason, if a 1st or 2nd rounder is off the team within 2 or 3 years, he's a bust!

Especially if he never really even played. He's a special * kind of bust. Sucked to be us on that one. He looked like he would be a monster for us.

Oh well. SB CHAMPS!

I'm dying reading the draft thread on the Steelers forum! After day one they were furious the Cowboys didn't take Elam and let him fall right into our lap @ 32 (A couple even mocked Elam to them at 17). Then at the top of all their wish lists for round 2 was Arthur Brown. It's safe to say "they mad"

I simply mean that he wasn't a flat out bust because he was off the team due to a non-football playing injury.

That's like saying Sean Taylor was a bust...

Sean Taylor saw the field and a was a beast while playing. Horrible comparison, but doesnt really matter. Its all good, I dont really care enough.

he reminds me of someone close to our hearts.

a young ray lewis. i have the highest of hopes for him. welcome arthur. you're gonna be just fine.

Lol easy there champ.

If by that you mean an undersized LB coming out of college and a guy who has a non stop motor... Then yes, I agree.

only complaint i have about him, really is his lack of "rah-rah" antics when he makes good plays, he absolutely does NOTHING after he makes a play, like barry sanders type dullness. sure its probably a weird complaint but after watching ray for 17 years (i didnt watch football before the ravens came) all i know is having a MLB that shows his intensity each and every play. i just hope he gets more intense in the nfl, i love to watch my MLB play the intimidator, and every time he makes a tackle he likes to let that offense know if they come his way they gotta deal with him in the worst way. maybe he gets excited to be in the nfl and he just rages after every play lol

That's why we got Elam, lol.

One thing I don't like about him is he doesn't show emotion. He's never reading stuff on the sideline out of his clip board, and he never yells at his team mates. Unlike Willis,Kuechely & Bowman.

/sarcasm.

This is ridiculous. Around 3 months I think I asked about being able to maybe draft both Brown and Elam, but I always considered that just a pipe dream. I can't believe it actually happened. Also, I really like Brandon Williams.

These guys will be the faces of our defense for years to come. That's exciting.

Lol, so is he the Joe Flacco of the defense?

You should change your name to HappyCoconut!

Haha, we'll see. I've never seen a coconut with a happy expression before.

I am happy, though. I've been telling people for a while that Brown wouldn't be the first LB taken. I said the first guy would be Ogletree. I even said the second would be Te'o. I wasn't sure who the third would be, but I believed Minter could be it. I am thrilled we got Brown as the fourth true ILB drafted.

I am surprised Khaseem Greene is still there. I would be all for the Ravens taking him right now, too.

Meh, I don't like it. He can't shed blocks, which is crucial in a 3-4. And looking at his tape, he's not that fast either. I give this one a B-

Actually looking at the tape and the expert reviews, the best thing he does his shed blocks and he's fast.

if we get Da'rick Rogers in the third I'll consider this a VERY successful draft. After that Ozzie is far more knowledgeable than any of us so I trust who he grabs.

Quinton Patton, Ryan Swope, Chris Harper, or Da'rick Rogers.

I'd give Elam an A, Brown an A+, and Williams a B+.  Not bad for the first three rounds so far.

All we need is Captain DEE-FENSE and we are set for the season!

You have your opinion, I have mine, but I give every pick an A+ and here is why: all have strong leadership skills, very talented, very versatile, hard workers, strong character, good men, filled big needs. These three players will be the foundation of the Ravens defense in three years.
