Ravens in NFL Top 100 Players of 2013

It's kind of sad that I would not be shocked if Flacco was snubbed but I would be shocked if he is as high as 30's.

We know Peyton, Brady, Brees are on there.

The Golden Rookies will be on there in RG3 and Luck.

That's five QBs right there.

As much as I would love Ryan not to be there, I think he makes the list.

Six.

Who knows? I don't like the way they do this thing, dragging it out for weeks.

Rodgers makes seven.  That leaves three QB spots (they already stated there are 14 total QBs on the list).  I'd bet Eli and Flacco get on there along with (pick 1) Cutler, Romo, Rivers or Schaub.  If Pollard, Jacoby Jones and Pitta can make the list, I think it's safe to say a lot of voters factored our playoff run into the voting, which bodes well for Flacco.

This. If Boldin, who caught 4 TD passes in the regular season, is on the list, than Flacco has to be on the list as well. I guess, he might just end up higher up on the list, than some of us even expect. 11 TDs to 0 INT are really hard to ignore.

My original guess was in the 60s to 50s area, but now I might have to pick a spot in the 30s, maybe even 20s.

Yeah I also expected him to be in the 50s, but apparently he's gonna be higher than I thought.

Based on the commercials, it looks like Ngata will be in the 40s. Imagine that, 3 Ravens offensive players will likely be in the top 40 (Flacco, Rice, Smith).

I think Jacoby was on there though because of his punt/kick return threat too. Devin Hester was on there last year because people feared kicking to him.

Jacoby deserves to be on the list. He is a feared playmaker and threat anytime the ball lands in his hands and opposing players recognize and respect him for it.

Way too many long commercial breaks for me. Then to cover just ten spots per week makes it easy to miss.

Agreed, don't see why some people hated him being on the list. An All-Pro returner on the list? My God how shocking!

Flacco has been on the list the last two years. While low (80s-90s), he was still on the list. Now that he has MVP pedigree he is definitely in the top 50 and probably top 20.

Flacco was 90 in 2011, and 74 in 2012 I believe.  If Flacco is on the list then he is at least in the top 50.

But seriously Pollard? He deserved it last year (that diving tip in the endzone in the 2011 AFC championship), but man he was mediocre at best this year.  Maybe he got voted in purely based on his uncanny ability to injure Patriots.

Torrey, Leach and Yanda deserve it far more than Pollard.

i dont see torrey making it considering boldin was revealed on the list a long long time ago. plain and simple if players are voting, they for reputation, and fear of having to go 1 on 1 against the guy, if a db is assigned to boldin, he doesnt care that hes not faster than he is, hes worried about looking like a little scrub on live TV, i dont think torrey strikes that kind of fear in a db's heart, now he may strike fear in a defensive coordinators heart, but i just dont see him ranking this far above boldin

I think the fact that most defenses chose to double Torrey and not Boldin speaks volumes.

As for defenders not being fearful of Torrey, you should ask Champ Bailey about that.

the list tends to be more about reputation than results, if the voting was done before the playoffs started, then champ hadnt experienced torrey 1on1 yet. champ as a matter of fact made it a point to john fox that he could single cover torrey in that game, and told him to let him single cover him so they can worry about the others. so that shows torreys reputation just isnt quite there yet, toasting champ all day was a good start to getting his rep up tho

It's the Superbowl bump. Pollard, Boldin and Pitta are on it, because they played significant parts in the playoff run. I wouldn't consider anyone to be more vital or important than Torrey for example, but all of them left a bigger impression than other (Torrey included) after the playoffs (which is why I don't think, that KO or Ellerbe will show up on the list).

I agree, that Joe will be very high on that top 100. It was his great playoff run, that got most of those guys on the list in the first place.

Except Pollard wasn't even that good in the playoffs. He was dreadful in the Super Bowl itself and lasted one play until he was running around with broken ribs.

Torrey has been in a ton of the preview commercials. He's on it.

You really think Pitta would make the list over Smith? No chance.

Cody is also in his fair share of commercials :P

To be fair, I've only seen Cody in one of the commercials, though that's still one too many. :P

Torrey is one of the faces of the team though. A lot of people outside of Baltimore still remenber his performance from the first New England game. I think he's on it, though we're quickly approaching "he's way too high" territory.

This.

And if Champ Bailey is on it at #53, how could they ignore the guy who totally schooled him in the playoffs?

I just have to chime in here to laugh at the media's ridiculousness. The Ravens have 4 players (counting Anquan) in the first twenty players revealed and NFL.com, profootballtalk and everyone in between feels the need to do write ups on how Ravens are being overrated in this list, one said "I wouldn't be surprised if Jameel McClain is #1 at this point." Thirty more players have been revealed since then and not a single Raven. Give me a freaking break media, always looking to pounce on and scrap of information that they can magnify into ridiculous hate. Keep up the objective journalism guys! (right after you finish your 10th piece on why the Broncos are the best team in the league [in May!] and your 5th on how Kaepernick and RGIII are simultaneously the second coming of Christ).

Do we know how many Ravens total are on the list? I'd imagine Torrey, Ed, Rice, Suggs, and Joe are all on the list. Although as high as we are now, Ed and Suggs are pushing it....

I think they said 9. Not sure, though.

So there are only 3 players left. Rice and Flacco are locks, imho. Who's the 3rd? Torrey, I hope.

Oh right, thanks. So far we've got Pitta, Boldin, Jacoby, Pollard, Suggs (Forgot he had already made the list) and Ngata. I agree Flacco and Rice are locks...so pretty much Torrey or Reed. Between the two, I think Torrey should be higher at this point, but I wonder if the players voted that way.

We've only had 4 so far.
