Could we use subtle uniform updates?

The only thing I really dislike about our unis is the current font. I like the more traditional Varsity style. The helmets could change as well. We all know how the backwards B drives is insane. Overall, if Nike kept it simple, but appealing, it could be a huge upgrade over the current unis.

The problem with the black pants is, that when you put them together with black socks, it starts to look like the team is wearing ballet tights.

It might be a bit controversial, but I don't want to have that many black elements on the Ravens uniform anyway. Too many teams wear black uniforms or uniforms with black elements in them. I would prefer the Ravens to look unique.

 

Didn't Baltimore do it first?  Should just tell the Saints, Jags, Cardinals and whomever else has black to just F off lol.

I love the all blacks in primetime, looks so dirty.  IMO by far our worst jersey combo is that hideous purple top and black pants combo.  Looks brutal.

It could be interesting to see purple pants with our white jerseys and possibly a matte black helmet...I really like the Ravens unis--I am a big fan of the shield logo and would love to see it as our primary logo but the Raven is also a gooder

The Raiders will always be the original "black team". Even the Steelers have a better claim to that color.

 

And I disagree on purple top. That's probably the most uniquely Raven thing about the Ravens uniform. I feel like the dark purple should be the starting point of any Ravens uniforms.

 

The combination that I prefer is the purple jersey and the white pants. Maybe we could invert that as an alternative, but going all-black is a little boring and unoriginal to me.

I believe the helmets of the Jags could be a frontrunner.

 

I wouldn't mind a black/purple two-toned fade helmet.

 

The Jags are the first team to use this helmet scheme.

this is true. ive always loved the vikings throwbacks and thought the new uni's were hideous. same with the falcons, theyre 90's uni's were a perfect example of the whole simplicity = beauty thing.

Oh I dig the purple tops, just hate the whole combo when its paired with the straight black pants.  The purple top with the white is legit though.

Wow. Never realized more than a handful didn't dig the black and purple combo. What if the black pants had a stripe? Can be thick or thin. White or purple?

The new Vikings unis remind me of the old ones, which were already great. It didn't make any sense to change those in the first place.

Remember when the 49ers changed their uniforms? One of the best unis and they ruined it for 10 years until they recognized the mistake.

 

Those ugly SF uniforms remind me of the biggest flaw in the Ravens uniform. The 3D effect on the numbers. It looks really dumb.

Those helemts remind too much of the Squeelers and what is going on with the socks and undershirts? Not every player wears undershirts so incorperating them into the uniform is silly.
