Eagles A Pushover?

22 posts in this topic

Anyone who thinks the Eagles are a joke and the Ravens had an easy win might think twice. The Eagles did to the Cardinals tonight what we did to them. The Cards offense is not pushover with Warner having a banner year and the receivers kicking as well. I have to post because I read it somewhere or heard on the tv. Our team deserves its due credit for the W.

Yeah I agree, the eagles looked like a college team last week. The thing is, maybe it was our team that made them look that way. They played great tonight and were dominant over a very good Cardinal team. Hopefully this is proof that we are a great team and can stick with these upcoming teams very well.

I think we caught them on a good day for us and a bad day for them, but that does not take away the fact that we destroyed them last week. Hopefully we give the same effort against the 1-8-1 team we face this weekend. If we play well, I can see us winning the division... on he other hand, if we play like we did against NYG and INDY then I can see us going 8-8.

Eagles are a decent team and I'm sure it was good for the guys confidence to beat them as badly as we did. Looking forward to sunday so this team can prove we arent overlooking anyone at this time of year.

While I agree that our win looks a little bit better right now, it's still not anything to brag about. A team in the NFL can effectively be judged by how well they're playing and other intangibles. Going into Baltimore, Philadelphia was one of the league's worst teams, and the Ravens game may have given them the shot in the arm that they desperately needed.

Arizona's secondary is a joke, but McNabb still looked fairly impressive.

I kept saying the Eagles are still a dangerous team. I started McNabb in fantasy tonight and I told my dad they would win big. And they sure did.

Don't get me started...I have both Warner and McNabb on one of my teams, and I started Warner.
Turns out Warner played pretty much how I expected...what I didn't expect was such a huge game from McNabb. I'm happy for him though, this game was a big FU to everyone who has been calling for his head over there in Philly.

It's amazing to contrast the Ravens' run D vs. the run D of the Cardinals. The Eagles went from a non-existent running game to one that is actually semi-respectable in 4 days!

To me, it was just another shining example of how watered down the NFC really is. Outside of the G-men, I don't think there's one other NFC team that can win the Super Bowl this year. Both the NFC North and NFC West are absolute jokes. The NFC South can't get out of its own way. And the NFC East was considered a power house until Romo got hurt, the Stealers stomped the Skins on national TV, and McNabb started his struggles.

Last night the Cardinals proved they are still the Cardinals. They cannot win on the East Coast if their lives depended on it. They should however still win their division since the other three teams in it are dreadful.

i think the difference between the eagles vs. ravens and the eagles vs. cards game was that McNabb found his rhythm in the cards game and vs us he couldn

The Buccaneers are looking good at 8-3, they've lost by a combined total of only 11!!

Huh? The Giants and Cowboys are undoubtedly contenders in my eyes, plus Washington, Carolina, Tampa Bay and to a lesser extent Atlanta have the capability to make runs. Would you have considered the Giants a threat last year? The Steelers in 2006? The Patriots in 2002? I could go on.

Additionally, with your point of view, the AFC can only tout Tennessee and no other teams because Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New York, Indianapolis and New England are vulnerable. The NFL playoffs do not decide the best team, they merely sort out who can endure the season and get hot/lucky at the right time. In baseball and basketball, the seven game series' usually weed out the phonies.

Thats an interesting way of looking at it. I think you could probably make that arguement for several recent Superbowl champs.

I hate this. whenever we beat a team the media says ther's something wrong with them. Then they go and destroy another team and all is right in the world again. They never consider that maybe the Ravens are better than both those teams.

The Pats were given too much credit last year and their near losses finally caught up with them when it mattered. The last couple years, there have been a number of high power O QBs running the league. Age and winter takes its toll on them.

As far as the Eagles, the biggest difference was Westbrook being healthy and clicking. But this is also the Cardinals remember last year when 4 out of our 5 wins came from the NFC West? The Cards can also thank us for making them take Warner off the bench.

Well it was sort of easy to call the Eagles a pushover when they were coming into our game with a tie against the Bengals. Fans calling for Reid and McNabb's heads. So naturally when we beat them, and they bench McNabb. That's where the evidence pointed. Don't be mad because we didn't get that ELUSIVE "respect" everybody on here is looking for. But the win over the Cardinals was impressive, and made the win that much valuable to us. Because in all honestly , I thought Philly was a downward heading freight train. But they impressed the nation when they beat Arizona.

How can a team be overrated if they had won our of the past seven Super Bowls, went 16-0 in the regular season, and had a QB/WR with the most touchdown catches/passes ever? Plus they played in the Boston area in a time when the Red Sox and Celtics had already won or were well on their way to winning titles.

They were seen as this unstoppable force when they squeaked by so many games (and super bowls).

But you're probably right, I'm too much of a Pat hater.
