God must really hate the Browns... (JK JK JK)

Not going to conclude anything, but being linked wiith the FBI and IRS for Jim Haslam is not a pretty thing.

I wonder how this will turn out?

Worst Case scenario is to force Haslem to sell the Browns, since he bought them out.

Lawsuits, Penalties, Bankruptcies, ex: Enron...

If you run a company, you do not want to be associated with the FBI or the IRS in any other way, unless you work for them. That can kill reputation and customers faster than a lawsuit.

This is... just wow. When it comes to the Browns, if it's not one thing it's another. I have to wonder if this would have come up if he would have became the owner of some other team. Ok don't go on about how this would have been found out, etc, I know that. Just seems Cleveland continues to be cursed.

I think the story would have broke, regardless of which team Haslam was involved in. The level and depth and longevity of the alleged fraud is just incredible.

I feel sorry for the true loyal respectable Browns fans. Unfortunately on the Internet it seems the majority are bitter, pathetic, moronic ones which I don't feel sorry for at all.

This story is crazy though, smh.

I tend to agree, friend - the fact that there is an investigation underway is something troubling to fans of the Browns, and I am hoping there is a resolution to this before training camp.

They have those?

I kid, I kid lol

Seriously though, after what they've done to Modell, I don't feel sorry for any of them. I'm calling it the Modell Curse and I hope it continues forever. They deserve every misery they receive.

What will probably happen in this situation is that if Haslam gets into deep trouble with his business, the NFL will temporarily take ownership of the Browns and sell them to the highest bidder. I doubt that the team will leave Cleveland as they have a 99 year lease on the stadium, then again Modell broke his stadium lease to move to Baltimore a year early.
