Packers @ Ravens - Oct 13

12 posts in this topic

My wife and I have almost finished visiting all 30 MLB ballparks, we are visiting Minnesota next year. So we have decided to start visiting NFL stadiums.
We live in Toronto, Ontario, and Oct 14[sup]th[/sup] is our thanksgiving and a holiday for us, so we've decided to plan a trip and catch some NFL action. Consensus that the Packers/Ravens match up would be a good one.
I’ve looked at stubhub and ticket exchange and noticed that tickets start at $240 ea for this game. I don’t mind spending more than face value, but was shocked at the 500% increase.
Which of the following would be my best option.

Wait for tickets to go on sale to the general public and cross my fingers that I can get my hands on any pair. I don’t think any pair at face value would be more than $500.

Buy tickets on Stubhub now, at least I’ll know how much they are going to be.

Scalpers…….

Try option 1 and if that fails, resort to option 2.
My only fear with trying option 1, is that if I wait until July the ‘cheap’ tickets on stubhub will sell out and if I don’t get any, I’ll be paying $600 for 2 tickets to sit upstairs.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

I would say 1, but that is just my opinion based on the fact that the ticket owners will not have them physically in hand until July.

Thanks for the info.

Lets say I try to get tickets and fail.  And then Stubhub's prices are super high.  What do scalpers charge for up bowl tickets?  I'm just trying to get an idea about how much I should be willing to pay through stubhub.

Thanks,

Mike

You need to be very careful, there were issues with fake tickets in front of me all last season. All I know is the people were escorted out, and someone sold fake pre- season tickets to my seats 10 yrs ago and they Eagle fans were escorted out.

So I really need to make sure I stick to ticketexchange or stubhub if I cant get tickets directly.

Are there a few thousand tickets available for each game or only a few hundred.  If I go online the minute tickets go on sale (July 26 @ 10am), and simply request 2 best available, what are my realistic chances of getting tickets?

They sell out pretty quick but it can't hurt to try. You can always verify tickets with the ticket office. Another option is to call the ticket office the Thursday before the game for tickets the visiting team turned in BUT it's not a sure thing .

there is always more than enough to choose from on stub hub and ticket exchange. Up high, down low, side lines and end zones. Plenty to pick from. You pay for it, but they stand by all their sales.
