So Gerry Sandusky just said on channel 11 that we're hosting Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving.
Well that's pretty cool. :)

Since the Lions play in Detroit on Thanksgiving (at least I am assuming this is still the case), would the Steelers/Ravens game be a night cap? 8:00, etc.?
Typically Detroit gets the early game, Dallas gets the late game, and two other teams get the night cap.

The question is, will it be on NBC or NFLN. Since it was Gerry who announced it, I'm guessing NBC.

I'm a first time season ticket holder, and as one, I'm actually happier with a late Thanksgiving game as opposed to an early one. We can have lunch and a bit of a break before heading down to the game. :D

NBC, they moved that night game to NBC and off NFL Network. Ravens-49ers was the last Thanksgiving game on NFL Network.

Um...how? We have nearly an entire different defensive squad (and I'm figuring a completely different look to go with it). No game tape. What's he going to do? lol

I mean, think about it. No Cary Williams to try and exploit. Webb will be back out there. Who knows about the other starting CB right now. No Reed to hurdle over. No Lewis to try and force into TE coverage and exploit. A healthy Suggs this time around, anchored up with Dumervil now. He's got nothing lol
Agreed. And gotta remember that their D is going to have no idea what to do with our offense. Torrey and Q is one thing, but Torrey and ??? If we don't know what to expect, how can they? They aren't going to know who to cover or how to cover them. An argument can be made either way, but I think we have just as legit a shot of winning early as we do when it's cold and Peyton is shivering. So let's get it done and shut all the critics up early.

So it seems we know three prime time games already, @ Broncos, vs. Patriots & on Thanksgiving against Pittsburgh. Wonder what other prime time games we will get.

If we play Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving, pencil me in on attempting to go to that game.

You can! I joked with my husband that I am having this baby in mid-July, but I am going find a way to have my behind in a seat at M&T Bank by at least October. We're going through some family dynamic changes. My mother is actually going to come live with us in late June, so I have a great baby-sitter, even if she doesn't know that yet. ;)

I joke about that of course. She actually is very receptive to being with the boys and giving my husband and I an opportunity to do things such as attend Ravens games. :)

So what are the chances that week 17 will most likely feature Tony Romo in a go or go home situation for the third straight year lol.

There are some positives and negatives that go along with playing Denver week 1. Some positives are that we would get that game over with, a win would be a GREAT start, and we have a long week to start the season. Some negatives are that they are a tough team, a loss would be a tough start (tough for fans at least...) i would much rather lose to like the Bengals or some other mediocre team. not that i want to lose but if we are gonna lose a game i dont want it to be denver week 1.

Pre-draft anaylisis of the Bronco's

Denver vs Bmore

QB Matchup: Flacco vs Manning.
Ah, the all time great vs the guy who has just as many playoff wins in FIVE YEARS. Manning is better than him though...Worlds away. Flacco is the better athlete. Manning is the smarter QB.

Manning wins every matchup except vs Rodgers.

RB Matchup: Rice vs Willis
The former teammates square off!
Rice is an elite RB. Can we move on?

WR Matchup:
Denver hands it to us here.
Thomas is a top WR based off of talent.
Decker is a stud.
Welker is a hell of a signing.

Torrey will give that D problems though...Champ isn't fast enough to cover him, and DRC has no technique to do so...
They gonna keep a close eye on Jacoby too.

Edge: Denver

TE's: Pitta vs Tamme and Dressen.
Peyton makes his TE's look better... Pitta is better than Tamme though

Edge: Baltimore

Oline:
Both of these Olines have huge tests...

Individual grades are better here
LT: Denver
LG: Baltimore
C: Denver
RG: Baltimore
RT: Baltimore.

We have the better line, if we can get a LT. We have the better guard tandem, and this is based off if Oher is on his A-game at RT.

Denver gets the edge here for how durable they keep Peyton.

Both Offenses are well oiled machines. The home openers will come down to which defense will be able to keep the least amount of points of the board.

Defense:
Dline:
Call me a homer. This Dline is the toughest in the game to play against.

Canty(potential pro bowler), Ngata(team craps pants in fear just thinking about the guy at full health), Jones(up and coming).

Those are the starters. Our depth is good too. Spears(starter last year. Great run defender). Cody(Ok. LOL) McPhee(great pass rusher).

From what I see, you're not going to be able to run on us. That offensive line i for Denver is going to have a tough time defending.

Derek Wolfe is a stud... We have put together a hell of a dline depth wise.. We have this one in the bag.

LB Corps.

Von Miller is a monster. The best OLB in the game. But who is next to him?

Dumervil is gone Ravens fans, and we got him.

That's right. Not only did the Broncos cut two great LB's(Williams, and Doom), they have no depth either.

Oh, we also have this guy named Suggs. Ever heard of him? Former DPOY? Superstar pass rusher and great run defender to go with our new pass rushing technician?

We also have this guy named Upshaw. Who will eventually be a stud in his own right and is one of the best run defenders in the game....

Lastly, we have our Die Hard Group.
Rolando is boom or bust. He is great vs the run but does not offer much vs the pass(which is what I think that a 3-4 zone can cover up).
Jameel is solid, not great.

We have one of the better front sevens in football.. Even if Rolando does not pan out.

The secondary is where we will win or lose this game.

They're not going to be able to run on us.

As I stated earlier.
DRC cannot cover
Champ is too old to take Torrey one on one.
Harris is a damn good CB though.

Moore, is a good FS. That one play will forever haunt him though.
Carter. Also a good SS.

We have a shutdown guy coming back though.... Some guy that is not big enough to take on Thomas or Decker though.

So.... Welker is eliminated bc Webb will take the slot.

Jimmy will be the X-factor in this game.

If he can show up.... D.Thomas does not stand a chance. If he does not show up... We're screwed.

I think we go with Brown here vs Decker. Graham is too small correct?

We are even with CBs. One is returning from injury, and one is inconsistent
.

Huff is better than Moore

We need a SS......

More is coming after the draft.....

I get what you mean here. Although I think it's worse to loose to a crappy team, if we lost to Denver in the opener we'd never hear the end of how our SB run was just lucky fluke, how we didn't deserve it, that the "real" champs are finally crowned...blah blah blah. But, I don't think we'll loose. Remember, we were totally in that 1st game until the pick 6 and then it just went south. One thing about the Ravens, is we play to the competition - we play better against better teams. Don't fret - we'll be fine.

I won't be watching NFL Network because I don't want to get caught up in what the talking heads say about strength of schedule and all the other bull that comes with it. I'll analyze the schedules on NFL.com for myself.

So no MNF vs. Pats after all.

Wow, no primetime game in week 2? So we can't let down our banner on national TV? That's weak.
