Don't get me wrong, I've been an Orioles fan for years, but I really don't like the way that this whole thing went down. The Orioles are playing .500 ball so far this year. It will really leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth if the Orioles are rained out or something. Hopefully, they will be in the pennant race again and we didn't sacrifice our celebration for nothing. Still, there is something about Angelos that makes me think that he was behind the whole stinking thing. There is no remorse in his cold heart.
Personally im hoping for a tropical system lol
I don't think its right Peyton will be getting the SB mvp treatment and not Joe, but we know how the network is, sigh.

Well, why not? Get two road games out of the way early. We can get more rest later in the season when we need it.
Plus haven't the past two week 17 games against the Bengals been at Cincy? I'd much rather have a Week 17 home game instead of being on the road. If we do get back to back road games, I would at least like to play Chicago or Buffalo in week two.

You want 2 road games to start the season and not have our first home game until week 3?
Sure do. Why not? Get them out of the way. It's to our advantage. We play on a Thursday. That give us an extra two days to rest before going on the road, but really reducing the rest to one extra day since we would travel the day before. I know it's not good from a PR perspective, but competitively it's ideal.

I prefer Miami, since they have a lot of new additions. New additions take time to develop. I feel like they would be the weakest team to face early.

Does anyone have a preference on who you would like the Ravens to face in the final four games?

Well we all knew this was going to happen when they stripped us of the home opener, didn't we? Should be a good game though, and John Harbaugh has proven more than capable of getting the job done when he's prepping for one game during training camp.

Um...how? We have nearly an entire different defensive squad (and I'm figuring a completely different look to go with it). No game tape. What's he going to do? lol

I mean, think about it. No Cary Williams to try and exploit. Webb will be back out there. Who knows about the other starting CB right now. No Reed to hurdle over. No Lewis to try and force into TE coverage and exploit. A healthy Suggs this time around, anchored up with Dumervil now. He's got nothing lol

Oh man where to begin...
Anyone who thinks playing Denver in Week 1 is a benefit to the Ravens is not thinking clearly.

This essentially means Peyton Manning will have all summer long to plan against the Ravens specifically.
Since 2008 the Ravens are a combined +81 scoring margin for season openers, with the last two being +28, and +31. Say what you will about the Ravens, but given time to prepare they are as good, if notbetter, than anyone in the league.
He'll already want revenge for eliminating him in the playoffs. But now he doesn't have to plan for other teams each week leading up to the Ravens.
The revenge factor is interesting, but considering we'll go in as Super Bowl champs and underdogs, I think it will balance out.
This also pretty much eliminates any chance that Manning suffers any sort of injury, or even really gets hit before the Ravens. Sure, you don't wish injury on anyone... but we can all admit that the Broncos would be easier to beat if he wasn't on the field or not at 100%.
This goes both ways. In 2009 Joe was injured in the playoff game against Indy. This way both teams will be at 100%.
Then, the nice weather. He had to wear gloves during the playoff meeting. He didn't when the Broncos played in Baltimore in the regular season. They kicked the Ravens' butts in the regular season. Coincidence? I don't think so.
Really, you're pointing to gloves?
Not the fumbled sneak, or the pick 6, but gloves..

More realistically, it was our inabillity to stop the run that cost us the home game vs. Denver. As a fan I have to believe that our run defense will be much improved this year.
Sorry... but I don't want the first game to be against the Broncos. First of all, it's much less meaningless. I'd rather the game be late in the season simply for the playoff implications and possibly having that one game determine who gets a BYE week or who gets the number 1 overall seed and home field advantage.
The game is only meaningless if we don't take care of buisness down the stretch, but then every game is meaningless if we don't take care of buisness down the stretch....

I felt it is so wrong for the world champion traveling to someone's house and get booed for our opening season as a defending champ. Man, I am pissed.....

I need to go somewhere to vent.......

Be prepared to read some short-stories excusing their playoff loss and explaining to us how we don't stand a chance :)

I think we're still waiting for them to come back and eat crow

There were novelettes before the divisional game last year, I was just hoping that they had learned their lesson about boasting too much and too early.

I want the Ravens to shut them up week 1 and show them they mean business. All the BS that has spouted since the Ravens' SB win has been ridiculous. From the win being a big fluke, to re-signing Flacco (whose contract will apparently destroy the team), to letting Reed/Ellerbe/Kruger ("The Ravens let their best pass rusher walk!") walk, to managing to get Dumervil at a decent price ("Well, he's not *that* good.), to not (initially) signing any big FAs, for signing guys like Huff and McClain ("They're not good on the Raiders so they can never be good!"), to not being able to open the season at home, etc.

I say bring it.

Rumor has it that it's gonna be the Pats at home for week 2 on MNF.

I already can't wait for week 1!

I wouldn't want anyone else but Denver week 1 in these circumstances. There's a whole bunch of positives that come out from this.

Actually, I wouldn't want the Jags anyway. Historically, we just don't do well against them for some reason.

Wow, really? Getting those games out of the way so early? That doesn't sound like the NFL. Usually they would hold that game late in the year, unless we play Green Bay late in the year.

If that happens, I'm ok with it. 11 days off in between, so we get plenty of preparation for both. It is kind of a bummer not to spread out all of our most intriguing games throughout the season, but we might as well get them out of the way. Hopefully, we can keep up our focus and stay sharp if we go through a stretch of games afterwards against lesser opponents, but our schedule is pretty tough throughout, so I don't know if that's even possible. I worry that it means we have all our division games stacked up late in the season, though. That might be ok because the Steelers could be completely decimated by that point.
