Full 2013 Schedule (open at Denver)

252 posts in this topic

Some media outlets are reporting the Ravens will "likely "open season at Denver.

Dumervils first game facing his former team should be exciting to watch. Also starting the season with a W against an elite team would be awesome.

I think this was a forgone conclusion, the NFL doesn't like to schedule divison games to open the season (last year not withstanding) and the Doom storylines are too good to ignore.

Not to mention there was a great game played there in the playoffs I hear ;)

And in the thin air and half way across the country. To be honest, I'm hoping it is Denver. I'd much rather get that game out of the way first instead of in the middle of the season between two other games. Get it out of the way so we're not dreading it down the road.

this has been the most likelier option since it was announced we're opening on the road - no way we would agree with playing pitts at heinz first

There is an advantage of playing Manning late in the season in the cold, thin air of Denver, too.

there's a better advantage to play manning while he's not properly warmed-up to the season too (2-3 start last season for ex); also getting the longest trip out of the way sooner rather than later is a good thing too
I'm just saying we have a better chance to win if we start the season with this game rather than have it bookended between teams like Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Traveling on what could be a short week is extremely difficult even in the best of circumstances.

Too many storylines for it to not happen.

1. This was the place the NFL originally planned to open the NFL season since the Broncos were supposed to win SB47.
2. Revenge for the "true" SuperBowl 47 champs.
3. Dumervil vs. Manning
4. Flacco vs. Manning

Sounds like a story to me. Way better than the Steelers or Bengals.

Also traveling to colorado sucks.

Get prepared for broncos for a whole month, travel and get that extra +2 days to start off the season.

We'll all know after the schedule comes out tonight. I don't care where we play as long as we win.

That west coast swing always wears us down.

Still disappointed something couldn't be worked out but whatever.

Get this out of the way early which I love. Extra time to prepare and a longer week afterwards. Hopefully we play NE,HOU,GB or PITT week 2 on SNF.

Ugh Denver is such a hassle for so many reasons. It also means we'll have to deal with those ridiculous fans from now until we play them.

The season will commence on Thursday, Sept. 5 on NBC. It's a rematch of last year's riveting Divisional Round playoff game that saw Torrey Smith put Champ Bailey under a tombstone. The defending Super Bowl champions always get to open up at home, but the Ravens will have to travel thanks to a conflict with the Orioles. The full 2013 NFL schedule will be released at 8 p.m. ET Thursday night.

Hopefully they will not be as arrogant as last sesons playoffs. They should be a little more realistic this year.

Be prepared to read some short-stories excusing their playoff loss and explaining to us how we don't stand a chance :)

I think we're still waiting for them to come back and eat crow

At first I was like Denver, dang! But the more I think of it, lets rip it off like a band-aid The Ravens usually play very good when they have a ton of time to gameplan.

We'll have a rev'd up Dumervil to play his first game against his former team. Peyton, who probably won't get much play in preseason, won't be in midseason form. I think we can start off the season on a high note.

The fans won't be very kind to us.

Honestly, I feel like we are a better team now then when we played them in the playoffs. I know Denver fans won't believe that with Lewis, Reed and Boldin leaving. But our defense line is well improved. Webb will be back. Suggs will be completely healthy. The biggest loss is Boldin, but I think we'll be surprised with our receiving core.

The Ravens will always have a tough schedule on paper. This is due to the division generally having multiple teams in the playoffs, and as long as we win the division we will have to face the other division winners from the previous year. This is the price of winning, and it is worth it. However, last year I felt like we got screwed with the order of the games and the travel schedule on top of all that. We always seem to get teams at the best time for them. Last year we played the Steelers twice in three weeks with a trip out to San Diego in between. To get our furthest trip out of the way early with extra time to recover afterwards is one step in the right direction. I'm all for it.

They've gone to posting this (and other posts from this thread) on their forums.

Yeah I said it! Should've been harsher... Not ridiculous. More like delusional, pompous, and outright dumb. Many of the posts they made weren't even seen, that's how bad they were. The ones that were seen, well they speak for themselves... Glad we're in their heads, though :bye: Hi Broncos fans

Great points. Suggs will be healthy and he had 2 sacks in the game, anyways. It's easier to play in Denver in September rather than January but, who cares, I know the Ravens will be ready to roll.

Just think Suggs playing opposite of Dumervil with Ngata in the middle, and Webb and J Smith playing press. Ball needs to come out quick for opposing teams this year. Good thing Denver got Welker against us.
