NFL.com's top 13 games of the season

has anyone else read this? complete joke. i apologize if there is a thread for this already, i looked and didnt see one. but some of these games are ridiculous. GB and the bungals, cowboys and bears, steelers at packers, dolphins at squealers, saints at seattle, broncos at giants, and broncos at colts.. thats 7 out of 13 games that i find laughable to even be considered in the top 20, out of an entire season of games by 32 teams, you pick these? harrison should lose his job for this. the fact that this list consists of either "_____ returns to his old city" or underachieving teams competing for the 7th seed(i know, it doesnt exist, see cowboys vs bears game) or interdivisional games that will mean very little in a playoff race is just ridiculous.

with harrisons logic, im just waiting for james harrison to sign with the bungals, and watch elliott make a new list, including both bengals and steelers games, with the title "harrisons revenge" or whatever.

Most of NFL.com writers/analysts are sub par. They use very cliche "jokes" and puns to make a mockery of the average American intelligence. Not sure if they had even graduated high school, but I doubt they made it past the 10th grade reading level. Some of their gramatical errors are atrocious, not to mention Adam Rank's hilarious predictions and comparisons.

Writers at BaltimoreRavens.com are much, much better. Einsenburg and Byrne are pulitzer winning columnists compared to those goons.

thats true, our writers are excellent while the nfl.com writers are pretty much all sad excuses for a journalist.. but this list is just sorry, i feel like this guy just looked at any team using the pistol, read their schedule, and posted a few games, and then looked at the golden child qb's like brady, peyton, and rodgers, and (for some reason) romo and posted a few of their games also, almost seems like they didnt even look at half of the nfl schedule before posting this. i just cant wrap my brain around this article lol

I went on a serious rant in the comments of the artile that it was linked to here on BR.com, just abosolutely laughable what this fool considered "top" games next year.

Edit: Found my rant and thought I'd move it over here since there is a thread about it.

Here are the games Harrison has "ranked" higher than Broncos vs. Ravens (at least the ones I don't agree with lol):

13. Packers vs. Bengals - Nothing needs be explained here, until the Bengals prove it I don't give a rip about them.

12. Patriots vs. Dolphins - The annual reminder that winning Free Agency means jack when the real games come around, this will be another Pats laugh unfortunately.

11. Cowboys vs. Bears - Depending on when this happens I put the over-under that both season opening QB starters are healthey and playing in this game at 1.

10. Steelers vs. Packers - The Steelers are on the verge on imploding, plus unless something remarkable happens this could end up being Bruce vs. Aaron. Whoopie...

8. Dolphins vs. Steelers - I get the whole "Mike Wallace left ofr Miami" intrique, but come one the Steelers didn't want him, he didn't want the Steelers. That amound of intrique lasts about the first 5 minutes, then you actually have to watch these two teams play, really?

And the real sign that there was zero real research and journalism being done with this article is the little blurb he does wrtire abouy Broncos vs. Ravens:

Baltimore's exodus of players and better Broncos games leave it off.

Really dude? Really? Nuff said.

Media rant over. I'm out.

He said the same thing about the Patriots game. Just because we lost players means it won't be as good. I don't understand why he didn't put those games on the list due to the fact the Ravens lost players and could have said, "Can The Ravens out duel the Patriots/Broncos just like they did in the playoffs without several key players?"

The media continues to over react to our players leaving in Free Agency, gotta love it.

that was painful. I'd rather watch a Sarah Palin interview than to read that again.

I think that this list is fair, because it's based on team popularity. The Ravens are not among the leagues most popular teams. Further evidence for the stupidity of the general public.
I hear you, but I don't think the Bengals have been very popular for some time now.

I am not sure about that. The Red Rifle, The Law Firm. That team has a ton of cute nicknames. Sure beats having that, rather than success. I guess.
Lol it's not based on popularity. The Bengals can barely sell out their games and Seattle's popularity is on par with the Ravens. Elliott Harrison is just an idiot.

Well, sure. The Ravens aren't exactly media darlings either. It's ridiculous how much NFL Network tries to sell us on the mythical Manning vs Brady rivalry, which has been one sided in the post season. Meanwhile, Flacco is outplaying Brady in 3 straight games.

I'm tired of hearing about how 49ers/Seahawks is the best new rivalry. If you want to be a great rivalry, you need memorable moments, close games, and big stakes. 9ers/Hawks has none of that. 0 playoff games. Everyone just wants to call it a rivalry because they're excited about the West producing relevant teams. If you ask me, Patriots/Ravens is the best new rivalry in the league. But no, Ray and Ed are gone, so it's not the same.

I guess this list was made by a guy who hasn't heard any NFL news since the first couple days of free agency.

He's a Broncos fan. Nuff said. Salty about us beating his team in the playoffs as massive underdogs en route to a SB Title that he wanted so very badly. On top of that we got Dumervil at their expense, Broncos fans are all mad at the Ravens lol. This Ravens team (especially on defense) is significantly better and I believe we are still the best team in football. I'm gonna laugh so hard when the season starts and all these people that try to convince everyone that the Ravens aren't as good have to watch us win between 12-14 games and repeat as SB champs. Flacco already got it done with the 17th ranked defense last year, the D this year will finish top 10, maybe better.

Am I the only one who isn't that nervous about facing Denver next season? Oh man, Wes Welker. Now Manning has someone else to choke with.

Maybe a bit.
Less than I would have a year ago.

The Broncos are still a great team.

Seriously, I can't get over the Steelers-Dolphins game being on that list. C'mon. Steelers fans don't care about the Dolphins, Dolphins fans don't care about the Steelers, and fans of the other 30 teams care so little about this game it's laughable. This will be a 1 pm EST game that nobody notices. They might as well put it in London because nobody here cares.

I have no problem with the games at hand.
I think the Saints at Patriots and Ravens at Broncos should be on the list as well

The media seems to only notice that we lost many names, referring to it as a "mass exodus", yet I can easily see many of those players being replaced... they haven't paid much attention to who we've gained. I'm excited to see our defense this year. With the draft, I feel like it will be great; even better than last year's defense.

I completely agree with you. I think we'll be able to handle them. I think it will be a great game much like the playoffs and I think we can come out on top.

It's funny, because nobody outside of Baltimore knew who either Ellerbe or Kruger were prior to the Super Bowl. Now suddenly they're irreplaceable.

Imagine if McClellan has a breakout year and signs elsewhere in 2014. All of a sudden it'll be "they lost an irreplaceable player in McClellan." Too predictable.

I hate when that happens.

Broncos look stacked, but looking good on paper doesn't mean you'll look good on the field. I think having that 10 days to prepare for probably the toughest game might be beneficial.

People say we might be rebuilding, but I feel we reloaded our defense to probably a better standard.

Cary Williams --> Lardarius Webb (We need our best CB back)
Ed Reed ---> Michael Huff (Reed is past his prime and will be missed, bu Huff is serviceable)
Paul Kruger ----> Elvis Dumervil (Definite Win Here!)
Dannelle Ellerbe ---> Rolando McClain (Ellerbe played well for us, but Rolando has a lot to prove)
Maake Kemoeatu ----> Chris Canty (Canty should be better for our DL)
Terrence Cody ----> Marcus Spears (I doubt this is an improvement, since Cody is still young)
Bernard Pollard ----> Corey Graham (I feel hiss versatility could help)
Ray Lewis ----> ???? (Can't be replaced leadership-wise, but a younger and faster LB should help)

Exactly! We've already replaced and upgradeedover Kruger with Dumervil. Much of the analysts believe our team is going to be in shambles this year but I don't see anything like that. In my opinion I think we've upgraded our entire defense. Yes, we lost big names like Lewis & Reed, and we can't replace them, but we can get great players in theur position and start the new dynasty of Ravens.
