It's one play. Means nothing. Wasn't that the only sack he let up in all 4 games? Also moving Osemele to LT would be dumb. The guy wasn't even that great at RT. Just keep him at LG.
Harbaugh said if the season started today Osemele would go back to LT for us.There's basically no franchise LT's in the draft outside the top 15. I highly doubt we'll be able to get an LT that can start right away from this draft. That's why whether McKinnie is coming back and the shifts on the line are so significant. If McKinnie doesn't re-sign you might have to get used to Osemele moving back to LT at least on a temporary basis like Oher has done in the past. It's not dumb and obviously KO plays better at LG but we can't just magically pull a franchise LT out of thin air. Ozzie has never been the kind of guy that will jump up 15 spots in the first round, the mid round Tackles are more of prospects like Jah Reid was last year and will take time to develop, an instant starter at LT will be VERY hard to come by via the draft given where we pick in the 1st round.

Since KO playing LT is "dumb" in your opinion, who will be our starting LT if McKinnie doesn't re-sign and we don't get an opening day starter at LT via the draft? I was echoing the sentiments of Ozzie and Harbs so I have no clue who you had in mind.

I'd rather just stick the rookie in from day one. There will be some growing pains but he would be better off in the end. I don't want to move Osemele back and forth like we did with Oher. It impedes players progress when you do that. I hope we can get McKinnie back for a year, but if we can't, I would just stick the rookie in from day one depending on how well he does in training camp.

Report: Dolphins interested in trading for Brandon Albert.

http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/259869/report-dolphins-interested-in-branden-albert

Not surprising since they have been aggressive since free agency started and they do need someone to replace Jake Long. This also signals that they plan on keeping Jonathon Martin at Right Tackle.

Ok, we find a trade partner at 32, most likely a team desperate for a quarterback willing to jump Jacksonville and then we use that second round pick in order to obtain Albert.
So basically we trade our 1st for Albert and pick up a 4th or lower pick?

They have multiple second round selections and some cap room left so it may be a nice deal for them should they not be able to acquire one of the big 3

"But that's not all, call in the next 5 minutes and you'll get two Branden Alberts!"

It's a little worrisome when 1. A team wants to trade a player in/entering their prime 2. Said player has been productive 3. Player dealing with injuries, in this case his back 4. No other team is interested

We don't have the cap space and, after Gaither, I am done with back-issues for OTs...

Looks like something may happen before the Draft. The Chiefs have given the Dolphins permission to negotiate with Brandon Albert.

Andy Reid has called this report into question.

Andy Reid also said Donovan McNabb would be his starting quarterback, then he was traded to Washington. So the fact Reid is denying it means a deal is close and that all that is left is to get Albert a new contract.

Miami should eat that 2nd and pay Albert something similar to William Beatty.

Branden would be wise to take it because Jake Long taking that reduced offered really gave the teams more leverage than people think.

Report: Dolphins & Albert are discussing contract.

With the talks heating up, that's one less team taking a LT.

Terron Armstead has a good chance going past the early 2nd. I think ozzie might pull the trigger if he falls deep enough.

Who wants a project in the 2nd anyways... Right?

But I love Armstead's potential and he probably has the same ceiling as Lane Johnson or maybe even Eric Fisher.

Armstead might be raw, but I think we can throw him in the fire in his rookie year and he'll man the LT spot for years.

Albert wants Jake Long money, which he won't get.  Not sure how they proceed from here, but contract inflation still scares me.

I really wonder what Albert's value is now. I think it has dropped considerably.

If we can, I wouldn't think twice to trade our 4th rounder for Albert. But then again, part of me wants to roll the dice in this draft. Maybe we can come out with Faulk, Fragel, Mills, or Quessenberry & they can be as good as Albert.

Well the Draft has come and gone and Brandon Albert is still a Kansas City Chief. Fear not Ravens fans who want Albert to be our LT, the Chiefs are willing to accept a second round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft for compensation.

He is going to Miami. Miami just waited so Ireland wouldnt have to give up a pick this year and thus could use it to help save his job.

Ireland should have been bounced a long time ago. This FA splurge reminds me of what the Eagles did in 2011 and what the Redskins did under Cerrato.

Exactly why on Twitter when all this happened, I predicted that it would take two years for Philbin and Ireland to be fired since it took two years to fire Andy Reid. I imagine in 2015, the Dolphins will have a new GM and HC.

Throw in the Jets to my comparison, too. These FA binges never work out. Shows the difference between renting and building a team...

Philbin might be a decent coach - I wasn't overly impressed with him in 'Hard Knocks' (I realize that's only a small sample) - but we will never know how good/bad any coach can be with a bad GM.

I just don't have any interest in Albert. I'd much rather trade for Monroe, but I don't see any indications of that happening, to my complete dismay... Not that Albert is a bad LT. He's a really good LT. I'd be happy with him here. The problem is his back. After Gaither, LTs with back problems kind of worry me.

Wouldn't we use him as more of a stopgap for a couple of years anyway? Just that I think an injury should be less of a flag if we're not looking at making him our franchise guy.

The Chiefs want like a 2nd round pick for him. You don't pay that for a 28yo stop-gap. You give him a long-term deal. You want a stop-gap, we go for Saffold.
