Does anyone know what is the most career touchdowns for a FB in NFL history. Also does anyone think Le'Ron will be in the Pro Bowl this year.

Unofficially, My guess would have to be Mike Alscott from the Tampa Bay Bucs. He was a goaline back to the extreme.

So I did some research. It's a hard stat to find. I had to piecemeal it.

Jim Taylor 93 ('58-'67)
Mike Alstott 71
Larry Csonka 68 ('68-'79)
Joe Perry 61 ('48-'63)
John Henry Johnson 55 ('54-'66)
Marion Motley 38 ('46-'55)

A lot of these players were from seasons where fullbacks were primary backs a lot of the time. I even saw some places list Jim Brown (126 TDs) as a fullback / halfback. But in the modern era the only high scoring FB is Mike Alstott.

So if you were wondering in terms of comparing the greats to LeRon McClain. He's got a long way to go with his 6 carerr TD's.

Mike Alstott leads all pure fullbacks in career touchdowns with 58.

Note the term "PURE fullback," as there were big, hulking hyrbids (in the same vein as Le'Ron McClain) that pulled double-duty as a RB back in the day.

If you factor that in, then Miami's RB/FB Larry Csonka would have the lead with 64 career rushing TDs.

Never mind, it was Jim Taylor who had the most, with 83 career rushing TDs.

Like PuRock, I had to piecemeal mine too, but used Pro-Football-Reference.com to do so (it's tough to navigate and filter just the way you want it).

For the record, Alstott's 71 career TDs listed above factors in his receiving TDs, too. He only had 58 on the ground.

Yea I found this site:

Which pretty much compared Alstott to the all time-best rushing/scoring fullbacks. Interesting article on fullbacks, if you want to read up on scoring/rushing fullbacks with a lot of Alstott love.
