no value? smh! if the man doesn't have any value as you say...then the Ravens would eventually part ways with him. imo, he has plenty of value! he just won't get the opportunity to really demonstrate that as a Raven so i'd like to see him go somewhere else (i.e. Jaguars, Raiders etc.) to at least have an "opportunity" to be the focal point of an offense on another team.

He has value to us as someone who knows the offense and has been with us for his entire career. He has no trade value. Whitehurst and Flynn had trade value based on how they played in the preseason and in an actual regular season game. Tyrod has never shined in the preseason or regular season game. He's not accurate. He has very good mobility and a strong arm but no team is trading for that or we would have obliged them when they were desperate enough to go after Flynn again. Now if we cut Taylor I'm sure some team would pick him up but I don't think he'll ever be more than a backup at this point. The only way we cut Taylor is if we either draft another QB with more potential or Hanie clearly outplays him in the preseason.

i hear you Rule but to me that is just the thing! no one can really say with certainty that he will never be anything more than a backup. or a starter for that matter. we'll never know with him in Baltimore. i'd like to see him go to another team to be given plenty of opportunities to shine.

I don't really buy the whole motivational thing with the backup pushing the guy in front of him, at least when it comes to QBs. The only time I've seen it work has been when they have an open competition from the get-go, otherwise you're far more likely to end up with Mark Sanchez-Tebow or Gabbert-Henne situation where the starter's confidence in coming shot.

Just my opinion though, that being said I don't think that would be something that Jow would struggle with; you could see that from the first day he was here.
