[News] Eisenberg: Ray Lewis Is Gone, But No-Nonsense Culture Remains

74 posts in this topic

The reason I sometimes dislike reading articles on ravens.com is that I find every article is super optimistic regardless of the situation.

So for 1. isnt that part of being a fan of a team?..to be optimistic that they will win and hope for the best? 2. do you really want to get on the ravens website to read the ravens colunmists trashing the ravens and pointing out all the negatives they can find? not me..i hop on other teams websites and ill say i think the ravens website is the best of any teams websites ive been on. over pats, steelers all of em.

No one will understand the strength of our roster and organization as a whole or give us any credit until we dominate this year. I understand we lost some serious experience, but an organization is judged from how it bounces back from situations similar to what we are going through right now. This is an organization that has bred some pretty solid players and coaches. We are more than capable of overcoming these current changes, which we will show doubters once the season begins.

Matt Birk and Anquan Boldin were pretty great leaders as well

The Ravens still have leaders like the ones who have departed they might not be as outspoken but almost everybody on the team is a great worker that plays hard and lead by example

Thankfully done the organization implied that McClain only got a one-year contract because he has to get in line and dedicate himself to playing football, and then only, will he find a permanent place on the team.

McClain should wear 54

Stop talking about Reed and Lewis they're gone already. They are history big "Ro" McClain and Michael Huff is what it is.

Why Rolando McClain didn't get a proper introduction like Huff did. Is it because he's not getting enough money or not worth "it". Why didn't he pick his jersey number yet

Optimistic article ...Again!

Its that Raven culture

Hopefully Rolando can get his act together and be productive. I think that if he stays out of trouble, comes in with the right work ethic, and makes a solid contribution, he will get his long term contract with the team. And I found it interesting that before he signed his contract, Rolando had to come and chat with Ozzie and Harbaugh. That tells me they read him the riot act and told him that if he doesn't tow the line he will be gone. It is a great move for the Ravens. Low risk, potential high reward.

I think Detroit should take a page out of the Ravens book. They seem to be the most undisciplined team over the last few years.

Don't take it seriously, it was just a joke nobody got.

Being funny might have helped it out. But I guess you're just more clever than all the people who gave you negs...

Ngata will continue to lead with Suggs. What would be great is to see Haloti mentor one or more of the standout polynesian prospects. Teo or Lotuleilei would be worth moving up in the draft for. I have seen Star play. You have to double team Haloti and Star. If you don't, one or the other will make the play. If you do, than Suggs and Dumervil will have their way with the offense. Haloti is a great leader/mentor on and off the field.

SO we should draft based on ethnicity?

I don't like this article. I wouldn't want to think that we are an elite team. I certainly hope that the organization and the players do not think that. That kind of feeling can create complacency and over-confidence. I would rather have the proverbial "chip" on our shoulder attitude. I would want us to feel that no one in the world, other than us the fans, are giving the team its due credit. This is what will push us to achieve more. Let us not call ourselves elite. We should aspire to be known as "the team of the decade," after we have won 3 more superbowls this decade!

Would be ashame for McClain to come in here with his attitude and upset the wrong person (cough cough Harbs) and end up sitting on the side line for the season. He can play with a chip on his shoulder but he needs to play "smart" football - no body slams, this isn't the WWE. Play tough, play physical but you have to play smart if you want to be a Raven!!! Costly penalties could possibly cost you your place on the roster...

But I am excited to see how McClain turns out for us - he's got the potential to be another diamond in the rough found by Ozzie!!!

@Tyche Great point. I think the chip on the shoulder attitude will remain. I think also Eisenberg is pointing out that this team with that perpetual attitude is the real deal.
