One of Eisenberg's best articles. Loved it, and thank you.

"But honestly, their work was done. The house stands without them. The Ravens are about winning."

Yes!

"Suggs,Ngata,Rice and Flacco all cut their teeth under R.Lewis and E.Reed they learned life lessons and the swagger that Ravens football is all about"

Yes! Between Ray Lewis' emergence as a literal linebacker game changer and Ed Reed's revolutionism at the safety position we are witnessing a little piece of football history. Our young guys only get better every year while having the seasoned, flavored wisdom of some of the games greats. We have greats in the making right now. Come the draft we'll have have greats that don't even know they're greats. I love this team. I love this city. Go Ravens.

We have that code in place for a reason. Once a player comes to Baltimore and fits well, they are family. We take care of our own. Let's head back to the Super Bowl for a repeat!

The house Ray built will stand through out time. We have a way about doing business and when you come here you get with the program really quick or you are gone just as fast.

Suggs,Ngata,Rice and Flacco all cut their teeth under R.Lewis and E.Reed they learned life lessons and the swagger that Ravens football is all about while Lewis and Reed were here. None of these players have forgotten what they learned and all the players who were here to win this super bowl have not forgotten what it takes to get to the top and take it all. Ravens are a family and play like a Raven is more than just a catchy phrase. We have plenty of leadership on this team. It's goona be a good season.

Bohica5, Ive been feeling like that for two seasons, thats why the first "L" hurts the most! Can probably get it done this season now that the Ravens removed the restrictor plate! Its the defense turn to ride the Offense and they will gel as the season progresses!

Ray will be back occasionally to check on things. I think his presence plus inspiring words will help, but the brunt of the responsibility for passing on the Raven philosophy will fall on the ones who tasted Rays brand of Greatness first hand.

one question...who or what is Mufasa??

Everyone in the locker room knows their responsibilities,If someone happens to get out of hands then it's a team's effort to straighten out the problem,if the problem persists then bench that person and move on

Thank you for re-confirming the 'no-nonsense' basis with regards to our organization. This is one major reason why we are perennially successful.
On the flip side, there is Dallas and the Jets, and whoever else fits that mold.
Thank you. Go Ravens !

This town ain't big enough for two McClains at ILB.
Why not? It was once big enough for the four Lewis's during our first Super Bowl run ( Ray, Jamal, Jermaine & Marvin ) :oldwiseman:

Go Ravens !! :29:

whose words lived on even after his death :)

Another great article, John. I had serious doubts about Rolando, but the more I've read about him over the last few days, the happier I am that we're the ones giving him a second chance.

From Sarah's article:
"PFT.com’s Shaun King said. “[McClain] failed in Oakland. Oakland is like a half-way house. Baltimore is like a two-parent household with dual income. …

Yes we need to cut Jameel. When I hear spinal cord injury that's a big red flag!

Anyone that has seen Ray Rice's E60! on youtube should know what he is about. His father was killed at a young age in a gang related drive-by shooting when they shot the wrong person. Then his idol, his cousin I believe, who was a rapper, was killed also. he brought a pellet gun to school and when the administrators found out they started crying because they knew how much this was going to hurt Ray growing up. He straightened himself out. He said it himself, he's not just playing for himself. He's playing for everyone who has ever been in his shoes, anyone who doubted him.

If you really think this locker room isn't going to have leaders, you just don't know.

Mufasa is Ray Lewis' nickname. Check out this previous article from "The Caw": http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/The-Caw-Ray-Lewis-Lion-Fascination/db54af20-832d-437b-b913-7009dce37aae

"Very" serious injury, but a contusion is just a bruise (swelling) that will heal completely with time. Unlike, say, a leg contusion where there's plenty of room to swell, in the spinal column (and head) there's very little room between the bones and the spinal cord (or brain) to allow for circulation, so it takes a lot longer to heal.

Unless there's associated structural damage (ie bones or nerves), there's no reason to think Jameel can't come back @ 100%.
