Ravens Lover

Brian Urlacher a possibility?

He better hope that "insult" of an offer from Chicago is still on the table because he won't get that type of money anywhere else. He certainly should not get any type of offer from the Ravens at this time.

I'm so tired of seeing this, there is 0% desire to have him here, and a 0% chance that it would ever happen anyway. He's old, ineffective, and not to mention the fact that he's played in a 4-3 his entire 15 year career. He would only be a liability

Sickens me that people think he's a 1st ballot HOF'r. If thats the case the Writers Association's standards have gone way down.

He was dirty for like a 4 year window, and after that highly over rated.

I'd rather have a Ray Lewis fat head on the field than Urlacher. Cheaper and probably more efficient at this point. Also probably wouldn't fit the scheme or attempted "youth" movement.

Honestly, when I saw the LFW headline saying we were the favorites to sign him, I was upset because he is not even a shell of what he once was, he would be taking valuable snaps away from young guys, and is just not a very good player anymore.

Agreed.

As bad as we all were on Ray for his play slipping early last year, we would be begging to have him back after watching a few games of Urlacher.

Urlacher is probably my most hated player in the history of the NFL, so whatever team he goes to i like only half as much as did before he came there.

Would much much rather have Dansby.
I'd rather us just stick with what we have and get someone to add to the mix thru the draft. Yes Dansby did have a career year last year, but he's 31 and want made him so dangerous was his athleticism, as he ages that will go and then he'll be another Urlacher.

What do you think about signing Urlacher or Dansby, Ozzie?

That particular play was 3rd and 9 in the 4th quarter. Brady scrambled for 11 and the Pats went on to score the go-ahead TD on that drive. All because a 28-yr old Urlacher got shook out of his boots by one of the slower QBs in the league.

One more win would have put them in the playoffs too I believe.

Not that season. That Brady play was in 2006, where they went to the SB - only to get run over for almost 200 yds by the Colts, of all teams.

Oh that makes it even worse as that was supposedly urlachers prime. No wonder I didn't remember a bears-pats game last yr

Let's ask him ourselves:

Nah.....
The day you get juked that bad by FTB, the slowest and least agile human in the Northern Hemisphere with two legs, is the day you should take off your helmet after the play, salute the crowd, yell "I"m done" and walk off the field forever. William "The Refrigerator" Perry was faster and more agile than Brady. That's just painful to watch.

It would make sense if we were to get him at a reasonably low price... but I think any price would be a waste. Don't get me wrong, Brian Urlacher is likely to end up in the Hall of Fame, but he's not going to be on the Ravens roster. We could find a younger, more consistent LB in the draft.

Brian Urlacher has been in steady decline for three years now, he is slow, a liability in pass coverage, and offers nothing in terms of pass rushing ability. PASS
