They retired.

That's like saying hey look I got Brett Favre or Kurt Warner on my team.
No, it's not. They retired after we began the mock.

You completely forgot to add Chris Gamble to the Chiefs. He is my #2 CB. Arenas is a great slot CB as well. Not having the Chiefs in the top 5 secondaries, let alone top 10, is absurd.
I'll look into it.

Tough Call, there's a lot of secondaries out of the top ten that's worthy.

I've decided that I overlooked the Atlanta secondary.

They were actually very good secondary last year with Samuel, Moore, DeCoud, and even with Robinson.

However, I felt that the improvement of Robinson with our own Corey Graham, who might be a very good CB, helps them to be in the top ten.

As for the Kansas City, they have a good group, but weakness is definitely their 2nd CB. Chris Gamble if he wasn't retired could help this group join the top ten.

Because they will be in our mock. It's not like we don't know what Gamble can do, he was one of the top rated CBs. That's like saying how can we know what a traded player will do because he is on a different team in a different system.

Here's the top ten list.

Where do you think your secondary will place without Gamble?

Obviously you believe the bottom 5 of the top ten are overrated compared to your secondary, but I'm listening.

Janoris Jenkins was god awful in coverage last year, graded out nearly dead last in coverage. A few interceptions doesn't makeup for all the big plays he gave up. Polamalu is oft injured and near the end and Mikell is no where near an elite safety. Rhodes and Johnson are still unproven. So in conclusion they shouldn't even be top 10 let alone top 5.

Agreed.

I think the Texans, Rams & Niners don't deserve top-10 status. I would drop them, personally. The Saints have a very good secondary. I would raise the Saints, Falcons & Bears, probably bring the Chiefs into the top-10 as well.

Hey what do you guys think of the Cardinals into the top ten?

I think the acquisition of Jurrell Casey really helps their case.

I know who has no business in the top 15 ...the 49ers. That is a weakness not a strength.houstons secondary also very overrated....in the meantime you should go ahead and move my line backers in to the top 5...that's more of a no brainer.

I'd put my secondary right at #4 or #5. I have a top CB in Flowers who is easily top 10, just outside the top 5. Gamble is a top 15 talent when healthy and has ton of ability in press man and will make QBs pay for avoiding Flowers. Arenas is not very good on the outside (which is probably why you had my team ranked so low) but he is very good, potentially dominant, in the slot. He has great quickness and is more than a willing tackler. Menzie and Sweeting are young prospects with high upside and one of them should be able to fill in the dime back spot without a problem. At safety I have Berry who will excel at FS after starting his career a bit out of place at SS. He has elite athleticism and ball skills, and will be rounding into his old form after spending last year recovering from ACL surgery. Elam is a rookie but he is a great in the box defender who can contribute in both the run and pass. He has terrific range and athleticism and will be perfect in the freelance role that I can afford to play him at with an elite player like Berry at the other spot. Overall I think the top 3 (your #s 1,2, and 4) is pretty clearly better than what I have but I'd take my group over anyone else's, with Denver being the only arguable team in the same range.

Leon Hall, Jason McCourty, DJ Moore, Ed Reed, with Cyprien as a rookie SS? That's a pretty nice secondary as well. I could debate you there, my man.

I edited my post. Yours is one of the 3 I prefer to my group. I'd put my rankings as 1. Seahawks, 2. Bills, 3. Titans, 4. Chiefs, 5. Broncos

Ahh, I see. To be fair, I actually agree. I wonder how long old man Bailey can continue to do what he does. Torrey Smith took him to school and it was elementary and he couldn't keep up. Maybe even Kindergarten or Pre-K. I don't think he's a true #1 CB anymore. Barron, I feel, will be a good player. I think the safety tandem he has is actually really good. I think they can feed off of each other very well. I just don't like his cornerbacks as much.

What makes you say that? I disagree, though that's obvious. A reason I chose Arthur Brown was due to the two LBs I already have. Ayers & Brown, I feel, really work well with the player that is Arthur Brown. I feel like my starting linebackers can really feed well off of each other. I might not have the depth, but that's easily correctable by placing Shea McClellin at LB, which is a move I prefer over where he currently is at DE, but I like his versatility.

I think people will be very surprised with the moves I will make with my linebacker corps soon. I expect this question about depth to be really answered shortly.

I wonder if you and I have the same idea? Lol.

I agree. Barron will be a very good player but I feel like Bailey is getting by on name recognition at this point. He is still solid, but he isn't a guy who can singlehandedly make a CB corps great anymore. Moore has some potential but he isn't anything special right now and neither is the rest of the CB group. Not a bad secondary by any stretch but I think 3 is a little high. I also think Miami has a pretty underrated group, arguably the best safeties of any team and Sean Smith isn't bad. They should definitely be top 10.

Congrats on the Falcons.

They're in the top three category.

Stats don't lie.

http://sports.yahoo....1116&timeframe=

They allowed the fewest passing TDs last year and part of the top five interception machines.

Also, replacing Dunta Robinson, who was clearly past his prime, with the younger and underrated Corey Graham, solidify their place as one of the top No-Fly Zones.

I don't know, maybe it's cause they're one of the few teams that shut down Brees.

You do realize that while they gave up the second fewest passing TDs, they also surrendered the 9th most TDs rushing the ball? Perhaps that had something to do with it? You know, run the ball in for the TD? I don't know. That would make sense.

I know you guys all think the 49ers are overrated, but the stats don't lie about them being one of the top secondaries. Also, they're still probably better than the Chiefs.

Houston dropped out of the top ten because stats support they were lit up. Chad Henne lit them up of course.

You can say they suck against the run, but the team sure didn't pass against them very often.

In the playoffs, the 49ers beat them with the run, not with the pass.
