Getting to know Rolando McClain

Can't believe this. He had a chance to turn his career around and be on a winning team and blew it, release him tomorrow.

Actually it is Decatur, GA.

Is it? I know he went to high school in Alabama. For the decatur Red Raiders football team. Also the story i linked says "De

c

atur, Ala."

I was just about to post this. Not sure how I feel about it until more details emerge. I kind of wish we had Ray Lewis in the locker room keeping him in check.

I'd rather he stay on the football team. I don't think this is as big of an issue: due to him not really having begun anything with the team or training

c

amp or anything like that.

That's another reason why he would be released, he hasn't began anything with the team so he can be cut.

McClain twins bring on the pain... and then there was one! Bye Rolando, you are not fit to be a Raven. When the Ravens give you a chance you clean up your act buddy or you go bye bye!

This is a huge deal. After the sob story he gave us of how he has matured as a man and is truly turning his life around, he still shows that he is incapable of making good decisions. If we cut him, which is a strong possibility, his NFL career may be over. This is exactly why he is an underachiever in a defense where Nnamdi and Huff excelled in

Well, as of right now. This is a fix

Mcclain arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. I think he needs to move out of Decatur, Alabama. I know his family/friends are there and it's where he grew up and everything, but all of his arrests happen there.

Alabama police are not "just." Also, I find disorderly conduct and resisting arrest to be flimsy charges that are meaningless, really.

One would think that if he were such a delinquent, he would have been in trouble in some other place. It's clear he's lacking some restraint when around his family, but I'm not sure he's the instigator of the incidents. It seems as though he just needs to use better judgement regarding his involvement.

Eric decosta on rolando mcclain 'we think he warrants a second chance'

Good enough for me.

Definitely, at least until you see what he does within the defensive scheme next to Brown.  Wonder how he'll take not being the focal point of the middle of the defense with Brown there.

Does anyone know if he has even made it to Baltimore yet? I heard somewhere he was suppose to come in last week but haven't heard anything more. IMO that his first step in getting away from that element and proving that he wants to play here.

So, whether we agree or disagree with the team's decision, what do we think McClain's role on the team will be? I think he'll be starting alongside Arthur Brown. They complement each other perfectly. If they each reach their potential, we could have quite the tandem.

I think he will start as well. Art will stay on field for passing downs and we will bring in another corner or safety

I suspect if Rolando focuses on playing with less trips to Decatur and no more stupid actions then he makes the team. I think Jameel will be kept for now but I suspect he goes on PUP.

There's a good chance Rolando is suspended. If that happens then I expect the Ravens to obviously test their young LBs like Bynes and McClellan.

I do think Rolando can beat out Jameel but the question is if he will. One has maturity issues and the other is average, knows the defense and is coming off and injury. Linebacker battle will be really interesting.

It will be a fun battle to watch.
