Guys, Ozzie Newsome could go down as the best GM of all time. Whether Rolando works out or not is regardless, after all the immediate interest he got right after being released, who would have thought we would get him for this cheap. Wow.

Great. He still needs to pass physical and all but I'm excited/anxious to see how this move pans out.

Also, I didn't mean to get that last Rolando McClain thread locked lol. I was surprised people really argued about it. My b

As I was listening to The Fan today at work when I first fount about this, that's what I immediately thought of. After next seasons results people around the league will be praising how good Ozzie is after losing/cutting so many key guys. Atleast that's what I think/hope.

I was wrong. I am eating crow. Only time will tell if I will be happy about it, but I am optimistic.

Nothing wrong with that, man. I've had my fair share of eaten crow.

If he stays out of trouble then we have ourselves steal. If he gets in trouble we can let him go with little to no cap hit. It's a win-win for us.

Wow. For just $700,000? At this amount, I would've signed him for at least another year, but that's the epitome of a low risk situation. I'm very happy with the move, even if it is a temporary solution. I hope that our situation brings out the best in him, and if it doesn't, we could easily cut our losses early without repercussions.

You can't go wrong at $700K. If he does something stupid, he can be cut with no problem.

Like I said in the draft forum, I don't think this changes anything for our War Room. We still go BPA, but there's less pressure to find two starting ILBs now. I still want Arthur Brown if he's there at 32.

Thses moves make me really think we're trading up. Almost every need has been filled except left tackle, nt and ss. Ozzie has the picks to do it and probably still sees the sb window as being wide open so why not keep the team competitive by moving up for an impact player.

I thought vet minimum was 860k... Maybe he's been in the league for less then 4 years though. If that number is accurate, then it is a STEAL!!!!!

We saved more than that releasing Ayanbaddejo, so it seems reasonable. I am interested to see whether this kind of move coupled with the strenghthening up front means that as an organisation we think that high picks and big money are wasted at ILB. The draft might tell.

I cant wait to see him out there on the field! Hopefully does the ravens good. I wonder if they are still considering putting upshaw at ILB?

I doubt he makes a huge impact and his off-the-field antics are alarming, but the move is about as "low risk, high reward" as it gets. Hopefully he'll provide us with least a solid stopgap and maybe becomes a productive starter for even longer.

I really think the guy wants a true second chance and being with a ravens organization should help him.
