"I would like to thank the city of Baltimore and the Ravens organization for an amazing ride. We will forever be united as champions!" That was his last Twitter message.

His Twitter message was sort of strange and telling at the same time. I personally have a 5-year-old who loves this kid, and I hope his comments were meant as a general "thank you, let's go do it again!" as opposed to anything else.

While BA seems to take care of his body on a Ray Lewis-type level, he is almost 34 now I believe. It may be a retirement on the way, I can't see why we'd cut him (at this point and time in the offseason anyway) with our current inside linebacker depth.

Definitely something that was expected if true. He didn't play well last year and I'm sure he'd like to focus more on his political movement. It was nice having him but it's time to move on.

Why are we letting all these players go?!? It's beyond questionable at this point, regardless of who we might get in the draft later this month.

It's not like he was a major contributor. Even his special teams play declined last year

Ayanbadejo wouldn't be a loss at all. He was pretty dreadful last year.

My 5-year-old son will be hurt. ;) He likes Brendon Aybiddygogo/Abendolo/Aybadenjoe, etc. He never could say his name right, but he was one of his favorite players for some reason. :( Sad to see him leave.

I appreciate what he's done for the city of Baltimore and the Ravens, but he's declining on the field and going to be 37 when the season begins. Not surprised by this at all.

Even older. I think he's 36.

Does anyone know the cap savings?
$807K. Cap room is now just above $6M.

Even though I was getting tired of hearing his politics, he was a good player for the price. Will be 37 soon so time to retire.

Next on the chopping block, Leach. I will be shocked if they keep him at his current cap #.

Leach is probably staying at this point. We don't have the need to clear cap room. Everything left on the market will come really cheap.

If they get rid of Leach, it's probably because they wanted to not because they had to. And I hope they don't WANT to do that!!

Nevermind. PFT says we save about $800,000.
Well its not that much, but every bit counts. Plus he is a roster spot where we could use to get a whole lot younger than a 37 year old special teams player. Not surprised by this move at all. Glad he got to win a superbowl just like his brother here.

Sad to see him go, but not particularly surprised. His play declined last year and the team is trying to get younger.

Karlous Dansby. Anyone?????
If that's the 23 year old version of "Karlos" Dansby at "Karlos" Dansby's current pay expectations, then heck yeah! Lets do it! Sign him Oz!! Make a splash with him just like you made a splash with Anquan Bouldin when we brought him in!
