Screen Time to Assistant Coaches

Has anyone else noticed how it seems with our recent signings that its Harbs and one fo the assistant coaches indroducing the player rather than Ozzie? In the past I always remember Harbs and Ozzie being up there with the new guys we've signed.

I wondering if this is just because the two guys that have been up there (Wink and TA) were more invovled with the recruiting process of bringing those guys to the Ravens or if you think this is an combined effort fromOzzie to take a more behind-the-scenes role and from Harbs to give his assistants some publicity.

Thoughts?

The Wizard is behind the curtain, pulling all the strings. :)

I just wonder if he's avoiding the pointless questions that all the reporters will try to ask him...

Reporter: "Why did you let so many good players leave? Are you gutting the roster of a Super Bowl Champ?"

Ozzie: "Its part of a plan we have, a plan I can't tell you or every other GM in the league would get fired for not being as smart as Decosta and myself."

The assistants may have had more to do with it, but the real reason they are up there is because the reporters will have more questions for them.

At first I thought he actually said that.... I was like, "dang, OZ is a baller."

I really do not think he enjoys the limelight so he pawns that "chore" off to someone else.

This is crunch time for GM's so right now I think he and others are studying and preparing for the draft. Ozzie also has to eat, sleep, and do family stuff.

Really not relevant. Ozzie is still king of the hill!
[/quote]
On the contrary I think it is very relevant. Our coaches always seem to be hot guys to fill holes on other teams roster, which in turn makes us a popular destination when coaches are looking for work. If assistants start getting more press with coach Harbs I can only see more guys wanting to come work for us, raising the overall quality of talent we have working here just as winning the Super Bowl has encouraged player to want to come play with us.
