Dez Bryant is the best receiver?

22 posts in this topic

Apparently Dez Bryant claimed he could attain 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns next season. Looks like rather than best QB being claimed by someone it will be WR this year.

To be fair, Bryant is über talented. But with Romo as his QB. No way.
Sorry Dez. If you had a better QB, who idk COULD MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, then maybe the effect would do.

Flacco and Eli were proven playoff QBs, when was the last time Dallas made the playoffs?

He might play like the best WR, he won't make the SB as long as he's part of the cowboys

I'll always remember him as the person Webb had the misfortune of getting tangled up with which led to his ACL being torn.

That, and that hideous drop in the endzone.

Dez is a monster, thats true but if your QB sux then its a null point. If Dez played for ATL or DET then yeah, I can totally see that happening, so the potential is there but since he is still a cowboy, I dont.............

Romo is one of the best QBs in the NFL for first 3/4 of the regular season. Too bad, you don't win SBs this way. Dez is a great WR. It's telling, that the Ravens wanted very much to draft him. Best receiver though? I don't think, he would make it into my top 5:

1. Calvin Johnson
2. Larry Fitzgerald
3. Julio Jones
4. AJ Green
5. Andre Johnson

I would put him in my top 10 among guys like Brandon Marshall. Man, I just realized how most of those guys have really bad QBs. Schaub, Cutler, Ryan? Wow, that's pretty underwhelming.

2 of the best top 5 WRs fall in Ryan's laps and he still chokes and fails when the team need him to score......

Dez was an absolute beast late last season, but Calvin is still the best. As for 2,000 yards...go for it. But Irrevelant, the playoffs don't count in this situation. 2,000 in the regular season alone is what's implied.

 You can't be serious. He's a future Hall of Famer (at least deserves to be), who will only be 30 in August.

I think Bryant has potential to be the best, certainly.

Romo is actually a really good QB. He has a terrible OL, though. Give him a solid pocket and you would see a different Romo. He does choke in big moments.

Because Stafford is so much better right?

Also anyone who thinks Bryant can be the best Wideout in this league has a screw loose. I mean seriously did Calvin Johnson aka Megatron have a heart attack while I was sleeping or something (god forbid)?

As long as Megatron is alive, Bryant will not be better than him.

That's what I was thinking. Megatron makes Stafford look better than he is.

Megatron is an unstoppable force.
Bryant has his ceiling IMHO. But Stafford has NO ONE ELSE to throw to him. Megatrons stats will always be better.

Julio Jones on the other hand is a guy who legitamently might be better than Megatron one day.
I was making a remark more of what OP said on the QB guarantee. If he is suggesting that he is the best, and expects the Flacco/Eli trick to work on him, he is mistaken

If the Cowboys continue to ignore the offensive line, it won't happen and Romo won't become a better quarterback.

Dez has a lot of talent. I don't know if he has Megatron talent, but I don't know if anyone has that combination of size, strength, and speed in the NFL right now. If Bryant sharpens up his route running, that's the only way I see him surpassing Megatron as the top receiver in the NFL.

As for Romo, his numbers are remarkably similar to Matt Ryan's over the past few years (including the number of playoff wins: 1 each). I don't know for sure why he gets dumped on and Ryan gets praised. Probably because Ryan's a younger guy and we haven't quite gotten tired of him making dumb mistakes in big games yet.

Talk is cheap!

Until he does, the title still belongs to Megatron.

However, I'll keep an eye on Dez Bryant for my fantasy team.

If he blows up in offseason, training camp, and preseason to back up his words, then I'll save a 2nd rounder for him.

100 rec + 2000 yards + 20 TDs is like cheating because you're getting the value of two WRs for one.

I won my league with only one decent RB, so I'm confident I can do it again.

Bryant is a beast and he definitely has top five potential. With a couple of more seasons, I think he'll be there.

Megatron will probably lead the league in rec yards for at least the next two years. All stafford does is sit in shotgun and throw the ball to one guy.
