Stephen A. Smith says we will finish last in the division

I still love Stephen A Smith.

Lets face it. If he was replaced w/ someone else, no one would hold the fort w/ Skip. They'd both bash Ravens 24/7. At least stephen gives where credit is due. I like that man. His not trying to act like a homer.

One question. Why the drop off when he plays good defenses? My numbers might look like that also playing the Bills, Jets, and Miami twice a year. Are yall kidding me? When he played us he looked real pedestrian against the 17th ranked defense. Numbers don't lie he plays great against Bum teams!
Thats not a bad point, but I would say that he has played pretty well against good defenses. I know the Steelers have always struggled against the Pats, and the Jets secondary is pretty damn good. However, with Miami and the Bills making up 4 of your games each year, that can lead to some pretty decent stat padding. In our division you have the Bengals who tend to have pretty decent defenses and the Browns have a quality passing defense, but that is about all they have.

I agree. he is very entertaining and keeps skip in his place at the same time. i'm not just gonna start hating him because he said one bad thing about our team. I can see where fans can get that we may finish last. If another team did the same thing as us, I would think the same thing. Difference is we have Ozzie, nobody else does.

No Boldin, No Lewis, No Reed so who's gonna get all the credit for Flacco getting it done now? I just can't wait to see or hear the first person that says Flacco couldn't get it done with the David Reeds andd Tandon Doss' of the world lol. I guess Pitta, Smith and Caldwell will get all the offensive praise now.
It'll be Dumervil, Suggs, Webb, Smith (finally getting to start), Upshaw, Ngata (going back to NT), Canty and Spears. They'll give our cheerleaders, and our chant more credit than they'll ever give to Flacco. Flacco can win a game and get no credit but if we lose a game it'll find a way to go to him. This is mostly by Skip who defends Tebow for winning but criticizes Flacco for stats and being carried by Ray Lewis.

Stephen Smith is a JOKE. Was any of his predictions ever correct? Last year he wrote us off not even making Playoffs. Time to Kiss the Rings and shut up.
The way I see it - Bengals and Ravens battle for the Division
Squeelers and Brownies for the last place
GOOOO RAVENS !!!

Did we just lose all 45 starter players at once or something? cuz even with our practice squads, the Browns and us are just tied to the last place of the division.

Stephen A Smith was a Ravens supporter for much of last season and the previous season. He constantly defended Flacco ( except on the really terrible performances that no one could defend ). When Lewis and Webb went down with injuries and a defense that was already struggling Stephen A Smith simply said he didn't believe we were SuperBowl any longer but still playoff caliber team. He constantly argued Skip on that point because it was skip that said the Ravens weren't a playoff Team.

Also I've read far worse reactions on various Ravens boards from fans with doom & gloom predictions criticizing Ozzie for not paying all of these players. People forget that ellerbe was undrafted and battle with McClain for 4 years before really standing out this season.
Kruger pretty much was a disappointment for the better part of 3 years, couldn't find a position to play, he carved a niche as a part-time pass rusher and finally excelled.
There will be other guys to step up just as these 2 finally did.
Personally I felt that if McPhee was used in the pass rusher role like in his rookie year he would have also thrived when healthy.

i like Stephen A. Smith on First Take. he did roll with our Ravens all season and only fizzled a little when Ray and Lardarius went down. however, to say that we'll finish last in the division? i strongly disagree!

To be honest I can't recall the last time the media posted ANYTHING positive about the Ravens....seems the media thinks we do everything wrong, yet here we are atop the NFL. Thats why those guys are reporters and Ozzie is in our FO.

If the Ravens were to repeat can we expect resignations from Ashley Fox, Heath Evans, Jamie Dukes, Dave Dameshek, Skip Bayless, and Jeffrey Chadiha? It amazes how many Ravens haters there are on ESPN.

Even if we miss the playoffs it just means we'll have better draft picks. With our front office we'll only be removed from contention for a season, 2 at most.

Why do you think Cam Cameron wanted Flacco and not Ryan?

It's all about matchups. Brady is a great QB.. but like Manning they are past their prime and seem to squander playoff games

He also said the Yankees will win the AL East.
Wow, if that's true he clearly has no idea what's happening outside of basketball.

In a round about way, it was on first take with Doc Gooden ( Gooden picked the Yankees) . http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=9120180

Skip Clueless and Stephen (we know what the A stands for) Smith are not going to keep us from winning the AFC North nor advancing to the Super Bowl again this year. The Browns and Steelers will not be as good as last year. The Bengals can't make it with Dalton. There you go!
