[News] Ravens Reach Deal With Elvis Dumervil

I could see Courtney lining up on inside LB on certain situations. This defense is going to wreck havoc. It's up to Pees.

for all those who have been doubting the moves this offseason, heres another upgrade from what we had. on paper i believe we are already a much better defense than last year. plus we still have the draft. excited to see how all the pieces fit together on the field!!!

Can anyone confirm this:

"Elvis Dumervil got $1 mil base salary this season, plus $7.5 million signing bonus. He makes $8.5 mil this year, with cap number at $2.5 m."

This is some very nice news considering that we just lost legendary icon Ed Reed to a rival just a few days ago. Our defense should be much improved from last year (especially the D-line).

That would leave the door open to resign Pitta.

The defense will be far better than last year if we can fill out safety and middle linebacker. Love the remake of our front providing incredible flexibility by adding Canty, Spears and Dumervil without sacrificing potential compensation picks. Ozzie is the master at signing only cuts and not UFA's!

The question is how does this effect us in the draft: Do we go for an ILB like T'eo or Minter or go with a playmaker like Austin or even an OT? What will Oz do?

Our Defense is looking like it will be stronger next year then it was this year, even though all of the talking heads say that the Ravens are already done for next year. Don't they know who the great Oz is!!!

we all know the golden rule round here.....trust Oz, thanks to this past season team and all they done, but we moving forward since the day after we won the SB.. can't wait to see whats next, because after all Oz is just getting started.

great signing,, but also pure dumb and blind luck. we cann Thank Magid and Elway for this, its more about dumervil wanting to be anywhere but Denver at this point than it is about any plan our FO had. ozzie's batting average is still pretty low this off season.

p.s.: hit the minus button all you want, aint no one bout to argue it though lol.

And it's a cap-friendly deal for the Ravens, too. Still gives us some room to hunt for some bargains.

Been waiting for this deal to happen all weekend and couldn't be happier!

Ozzie fail? O, ye of little faith!

Nfl analyst saying we are the losers of the offseason, to them I say look at our roseter at the end of the offseason. With additions of Dumervil, Canty, and Spears (so far) then 12 draft picks.. better think twice about the reigning super bowl champs and the power of ozzie!
