I don't know why you would take Suggs from a pass rusher to a run stopper/TE covering LB.

Especially when you could have this rushing the passer.

(OLB) Dumervil (DE) Jones/McPhee (NT) Ngata (DE) Canty (OLB) Suggs
im not moving Suggs to a run stopper he would be the will linebacker, the will linebacker often blitzing the QB or guarding against the screen. Upshaw would be the sam linebacker the one that is the run stopper/TE covering LB

will - sizzle
DE - spears(run)/mcphee(rush)
NT - ngata
DE - canty(run)/art jones(rush)
sam- upshaw(run)/elvis(rush)

suddenly with 2 small subtle signings, and one splash signing, our biggest weakness now looks like what will carry our defense to a top 5 unit. drafting an ogletree/art brown possibly k. minter, will give us a complete defense, because losing ed reed wont hurt us as bad as many think, sure it hurts our hearts, but it wont hurt our production.
Sorry Joey but they are not paying Elvis $8m to be a part-time player. I think we will all be surprised when we see Pees D.

Gotta love the vision of the Baltimore front office. For various reasons the defensive backfield wasn't gonna be there. Build a truly vicious pass rush. Give opposing quarterbacks less time to throw, and more time for new safeties to learn the coverages. This is a huge signing. If we can add even a little offensive firepower we're looking good under Flacco's team. #BSH

voxendu864 you're right i'm not in Owings Mills but they have evaluated these players and they have played very little at all. Doss the most and what? You honestly want what is on this roster when the Ravens had Boldin?
Doss was rotated in at slot receiver in most games in the second half of the season and playoffs. He made some catches and missed some...Doss was gaining valuable experience. So please do us a favor: deal with the fact that the FO knows what they are doing.

dumervil, ngata, and suggs.....that is a nasty duo. Dumervil had help with von miller, but having a dominate interior guy like ngata that eats up 2 or even 3 blockers will make him and suggs unstoppable. The browns payed 40 million for an unproven player, we payed 35 million for a elite pass rusher who is proven.

Suggs.
Dumervil.
Ngata
Canty
Spears
Upshaw

are there enough people to block these guys? i expect some beast numbers this year.

Sheesh, Some powerful names in that front seven. A secondary's best friend . . .

( In my best " The Rock " voice. ) " Can't you smell what Ozzie's cooking ! ! ! " :268213:

He was a natural leader in Denver. That's what I'm looking most forward to following the departure of Lewis and Reed. Welcome to Baltimore, Dumervil! It's a great football city that loves their players!

Wow Awesome signing, we gonna have one of the best lines in football. In Oz We Trust the best part is we will get another 3 or 4 comp picks again next year losing Ellerbe Reed Williams and Kruger, all the guys we signed were all cuts or released I smell another Super Bowl

"In Oz We Trust". *Sigh*

I certainly wouldn't say this one signing, especially considering we're supposed to be developing a guy like Upshaw, is going to make everything "okay" after all the players we've lost. Especially Reed. I still contend there was no excuse not to get a deal done with Reed. So our pass rush might be alright, but our secondary, after losing both Pollard and Reed, is going to be garbage, outside of Webb (If his knee fully recovers).

Don't get me wrong. It's a good signing on paper. But it hardly makes up for everything we've lost.

Suggs to Dumervil "Meet ya at the QB"
Dumervil to Suggs "Race ya there"
This is going to be fun lots of fun and against Happy feet QB's like Brady who hates pressure Webb is going to get a few picks. Just cant wait...

This signing makes the draft even sweeter, with the Wizard of Oz getting all those picks to bolster the team into juggernauts on both sides of the ball. And it makes it harder to wait for the draft and next season!

Good sign all we need is a FS and a third Wr... sorry but Doss is not a third wr he drops to many balls
I agree with you. I have been very down on Doss. I just hope Doss has shown something to the coachs that he has not shown to the fans.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't think we lost much. In fact I think we've gained quite a bit. Slowing a passer starts with a pass rush, and a good run defense. We were weak in both respects last year, I don't think that is the case any more. we can draft MLB and FS and have a pretty complete team (with a few questions at LT).

Our front 7 got a serious upgrade and depth. I like these moves. Oz is a master. The 12pick draft should set us up for the future.

Since Ed Reed is Gone should I retire this username?
Thats your call but in most fans eyes Ed is always going to be a Raven. I can almost guarantee you in just a few years he will resign with us and retire a Raven and 5 years later he will go to canton as a Raven.

Welcome to Baltimore! The guys the Ravens departed with will always be a Raven in the hearts of Ravens fans. We can't change anything....I want continued success for all of them. I also welcome the new members.....without them, there would not be a team to watch, and react to, good or bad. Go Ravens!!!

Big fan of the fact that he had his most productive year when Don Martindale was the linebackers coach in Denver. If Dumervil even gets close to those numbers (led the NFL with 17 sacks that year), it'll be a huge upgrade.
