If you are unhappy about the opening game situation go to NFL.com and go to their "contact us" button. You can lodge a complaint. It probably won't do any good, but at least they will know we are not happy with their foolishness.

Be sure to mention that you plan to spend your money with their advertising partners competition.

Sorry. After getting over it I like the idea of going to Denver and getting that out of the way with the advantage of extra game planning time and extra rest after the long flight.

This is why we get crapped on all the time as fans and as a city. We never stand up for ourselves. We vent amongst ourselves, but never do we make our voices heard outside of Baltimore.

I let my wallet talk for me as in I left a message for ozzie newsome, steve's mailbox was full .i'm not stupid enough to think I will get an answer but it was good to vent i will not pay to attend another game period nor will i buy ravens merchandise . this is the second time they did this . i will sit on my couch and watch on tv my hope is allot of other folks will follow suit if not enjoy the game i still will as well. and for the record the ravens could fix this for the fans if they wanted to , they chose not to . and before i get the no day is available goddell offered sunday evening and harbs wants the added rest that a Thursday game allows .

I understand that the NFL wants a working relationship with the MLB, but in all reality if I'm Goodell I'd just schedule the Ravens home opener as its supposed to be. I think the Orioles can handle gate competition for 1 home game of 81. Parking is the only issue I think.

I don't blame them not taking Sunday evening. That doesn't fix it at all. It is about the pageantry and fanfare and celebration for the fans and the city that kicking off the NFL season brings in. None of that goes with a Sunday evening kickoff. It would still just be another Home Opener. No big deal. So why give up the only advantage you have in the extra days' rest? Bisciotti should have fought for a Wednesday opening. It is unclear who nixed the Wednesday opener, whether it was the Ravens to respect Modell or the NFL but it doesn't matter. Do you think Art would want the city and fans to get the shaft like this? I don't think so.

I think its ridiculous the entire thing. the whole concert thing is insane . I don't pay for a psl to watch a concert I pay for a psl to watch football. the part that sickens me is they think the fans are stupid enough not to see through this garbage. I still look forward to the season . any celebration at this point won't work if its the second week of the season that's just a regular home game as you stated a kickoff concert and you miss the game and us fans aren't stupid enough to pay for tickets at m and t for an away game.and the players wouldn't be there anyway ....

Can't fault Harbaugh for wanting that extra rest of having the Thursday game. That's huge to start off the season, and is a great advantage to our players. The game should be played on Weds, the Jewish Holiday, just like last year. But for some reason Goodell won't play on it.

We have the Lombardi. We'll have the rings. But their actions have certainly taken away any respect and fanfare usually accorded the Champions. In essence, they've done everything possible to take it away.

What exactly do some of you want them to do? With the Orioles and White Sox both coming in from out of town after a night game the day before, anything earlier than a 4 o' clock start is impossible, where rush hour traffic and 0 parking will more than frustrate people. It sucks that this isn't going to work out, but it happens. You'll still get to watch 8 home games, there's still going to be a home opener, just not when we would've liked.

I want them to agree to open Wednesday. (as for the NFL & the Ravens)
I want them to move Thursday game to Saturday & have a double header. Those exhausted players then get Thursday off. (as far as the Orioles & MLB go)

Now, that wasn't so hard was it? For either side.

I agree, the NFL should schedule the game for Wednesday, but for whatever reason, they won't. As for the double header, the Orioles would be stupid to do that and I don't blame them for not doing that. As easy as it may seem, this contributes to a loss of revenue and as a business, it would make no sense.

Bisciotti already said he'd make the Orioles' whole financially so no, no excuse.

It isn't just the Orioles either. They can't just schedule themselves for whenever. The MLB also has to agree to these scheduling changes. The MLB itself has no affiliation with the Ravens so they see no need to bend over backwards so that a competing league can fit in too. The MLB schedule is already set so it doesn't surprise me that they wouldn't want to change. I want this game as badly as anyone else, but it could be just as easily solved by scheduling on Wednesday.

For the record, I despise Peter Angelos, I think he's a horrible owner and all for himself. But even this is basically beyond just his control.

I already said that as well. It goes both ways though. It could just as easily been fixed by MLB too. We're not talking about a game a month from now, we're talking six months out.

That's why I said it, because I completely agree with you on it. There are no scheduling implications for that day minus a holiday that doesn't stop other sports from playing on that day. You might have read this article already, but here's a quote from an MLB official on the matter.

'Katy Feeney, Major League Baseball's senior vice president for club relations and scheduling, told the newspaper that the situation "doesn't just involve the Orioles."

"The White Sox would take a broadcast revenue hit, and the O's would take a broadcast revenue and attendance hit. And there is a baseball operations impact. Conceivably both teams could be in playoff contention, so it wouldn't be fair to them to make them play a day game after both teams played a night game and traveled the night before," she told the newspaper. "We make accommodations in our scheduling in the postseason. We work with the NFL. But this was something that was brought to us as a possibility just three weeks or a month ago. We always want to work with whoever wants to work with us, but why should these teams be punished?"

That's pretty detailed and it does have implications. I can see, again, why they wouldn't want to break their backs to accommodate a rival league.
