A friend of mine suggested that the Boldin trade is not such a big deal, bc we have another big physical reciever with great hands. Pitta

He suggested that we should try to move Pitta to WR.

I thought about this for a while, and it is not a bad idea.

First off, it will be very hard for corners to cover him. He is 6'4. And for a guy his size, a 4.6 40 is not bad at all. He is just as fast as Boldin.

He has reliable hands, and will go over the middle to fight for more yards.

Ozzie said that he would go TE in the draft, I think this might mean a potential move for Pitta.

Thoughts?

He would be a great possesion WR

Sure, he can play the slot just as Dallas clark did for Jim caldwell, but other than that no.

He's not going to be an actual WR.

I've thought about this as well and I really like the idea. He can do exactly what Boldin did and is faster too. Moving him there gets rid of our slot receiver need and will allow Dickson to be on the field which is nice because he stretches the defense more than Pitta does. If we take a TE in the draft I can definitely get behind a move like this.

I like how in the video.. the announcers.. don't even care about how LITERALLY AWESOME that catch was from Pitta, my man crush.. they just want to announce how much the team needs to destroy Flacco, WOW, that's disgusting

Irrelevant you crazy. He has the size to play TE, he's too thick and slow to be a wide out. As previously stated, you can put him in the slot from time to time put he's not going to be a true WR.

Way too slow to be a true WR.

Serious question. On the field, what really is the difference between a WR and TE?

Slot receiver, receiving TE, whatever. He can go out and catch the ball for short to medium yardage, and he is good at it. Who cares what we call him? So long as we keep him.

Boldin was also too slow if I recall, Pitta is also bigger and ran a faster 40. I was trying to go more along the path of occasional slot WR.

Don't be surprised if Harbs does this.

He's a mismatch for slot CBs.

I wouldn't mind.... That's what I'm saying, I'm not going to PROMOTE the friggin idea, but it is a thought that went through my head

I'll bite. I think in certain situations he already plays as a WR, however I think it would be a disservice to his skill-set to make him a full-time WR because then he wouldn't get favorable match-ups against LBs. As another poster said, he's going to be our bigger, slightly slower, better blocking Dallas Clark.

But Pitta isn't near as physical as Boldin. It's a rare breed that can be that slow but still successful.
