Boycott The O's 9/5-9/8; Are You In?

282 posts in this topic

I thought of the boycott as soon as I heard the news, but now it doesn't really matter, as long as they get that Thursday and have that extra week, the Ravens aren't going to back to back so no big deal. I just want to see the team molded right, and I cant wait for the draft, 12 picks is fantastic

Ravens>Orioles+White Sox

Math doesn't lie!

If the O's ever win another championship, the Ravens need to figure out a way to screw over part of their celebration too. If I was in B-more right now I'd totally be in for the boycott.

What does that have to do with anything? They can reschedule it! M&T Bank Stadium has more people in its restaurants than Camden Yard in its whole stadium, so this shouldn't even be a debate.

I asked this in the other thread too but I wonder if this would be the same scenario if the O's didn't have the awesome season they did last year, and instead were irrelevant cellar dwellers for the 15th consecutive year?

Tough faeces! The Orioles and White Sox haven't been relevant in ages and they want to upstage the defending Super Bowl Champions?!

They make it to the playoffs for the 1st time in 15 years, lose and now they get to call the shots? I say just let them both play in BAL the same day. The Oriole Bird can cry his heart out in private, as Camden Yards will be completely empty.

So, I guess the Ravens winning a SB is not a big deal then?

Kind of dissappointed with almost everyone involved. NFL, MLB, Orioles...geez.

I don't think you need to boycott the O's when the Ravens play that Denver game. Their stadium will be filled with White Sox fans if they even play. This will end up a PR nightmare, more than it already is.

Squeaking into the playoffs by the skin of your teeth, then losing in the 1st round doesn't make you remotely as relevant as the Super Bowl Champions.

The Orioles organization definitely has to reschedule the White Sox game, ASAP. They have enough difficulty selling tickets as it is; imagine all the casual fans tehy would alienate if this happened?
We aren't really that relevant right now, even if we are the current SB champs. Pretty much everyone outside of Baltimore picked the 49ers and believes that we are in a rebuilding mode. We wont be seen as a competitive team come this next season, NFL doesn't want that debacle of a home opener last year.

They won 93 games, it was only "skin of their teeh" because they play on one of the toughest divisions. They sell plenty of tickets when they're competitive and the games matter, which was the case last year for the first time in over a decade, but anyone who grew up watching the Orioles is hoping that last year was a sign of what's to come, and not a Cundiff in 2010.

I actually think they will have a legit shot to win the division especially since the Yanks will finally most like be non-factors for once, and so will the Sox, so it'll be between us, Tampa and Toronto

I wish they would lose all their fans now. Seriously, there's another baseball team right down the road that isn't so poorly managed and incredibly cheap.
They are steam rolling through spring training, now granted it is spring training, but I really like the depth they got this year. Did you also know that you can simply move a game in a 162 game season and it have no consequences on the players...... :eyes:

Lol @ people blaming the O's for this. It's not their fault, I'm just mad at the NFL for all of this. They play on Christmas, why can't they play on that Wednsday??

I'm really tired of it being orioles fans vs ravens fans. I'm a fan of both and it's just a very unfortunate situation.... That shouldn't even happen if they moved the game to Wednsday.

I'm starting to wonder now if this really was the NFLs fault. No disrespect to any jewish fans here, but what does football have to do with messing up rosh hasanah? Seriously? So the NFL can totally disregard Christmas, but yet when its rosh hasanah its "oh no we can't play on that holiday"? Where is the logic here, because I'm trying to figure this out?
The difference between Rosh Hashanah and Christmas is that Christmas isn't a religious holiday, its a more traditional holiday that is based on wholly pagan rituals and customs and has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus. Rosh Hashanah is the jewish people's high holy day

Baseball is one of the most boring, unathletic sports I've ever witnessed and played. Seriously, I have no clue how those "athletes" get injuries. Its ridiculous, they spend 90% of the time sitting on their butts. Sport. Right. Its one spot removed from golf as prime time for nap time. Even the players chew tobacco or gum to keep themselves from nodding off.

And besides that, there are so many games that it really doesn't even matter who wins/loses half the time they play. Garbage game.

You're a Yankees fan so your bias, and btw last season the O's made it to the 2nd round. (Beat 2x defending AL champs in elimination game).

So yeah, the O's for the first time in 15 years are now very relevant in Baltimore again.
