Blame Joe Flacco game

I am getting really aggravated hearing everyone say it's Flacco's fault that this mass exodus is happening. Even Brian Billick has changed his tune. One day he says no his contract his nothing to do with the moves and doesn't hurt the team, then the next he says yeah it does hurt them. I guess most don't realize that Joe's contract is cap friendly and he did help the team. It's either that or let him walk. And does anyone think that they would really let him walk? He can't be so bad of a QB if other teams were interested in stealing him before the playoffs even started.

I actually think that Harbaugh has much more to do with the exodus of veteran players much more than Flacco does. There's no way Flacco wanted a guy who bailed him out as much as Anquan did... to leave.

But, your logic is flawed in saying Joe is great just because other teams were rumored to be interested. First, they were rumors. Secondly... it's much more to do with how bad a lot of QBs around the league are. If you lined up all the QBs in the league, and a team got to pick... wherever Flacco ended up going would speak more to his perceived value.

Flacco is a QB, and he won the Super Bowl, and has been to the playoffs plenty and played his best football in the most recent playoff run. He was going to get paid. The problem is not his contract, but all the ridiculous contracts before him that forced his contract to be what it was.

This issue has been going on forever. There was absolutely no way Eric Weddle should have been getting paid more money than Ed Reed. But he was. And that's just disrespectful. But hey, you can't fix stupid. So teams pay bad players crazy money.

And like many have said... if the Ravens somehow are able to sign Dumervil, that makes up for a TON of the losses. That would probably give the Ravens the best pass-rush they've ever had. I'm not willing to admit that was the actual "plan" that the Ravens were following. I'd say if they ended up getting Elvis, then they lucked out big time. But I'll take the luck and run with it! With a pass rush and Webb healthy... this defense could be just fine.

Let them talk and don't even pay attention. I turn on NFLTA almost every night to get the NEWS. When they start babbling with their opinions, my ears automatically shut down. Same with NFL Live, NFL 32, NFL AM, etc.

Rotoworld is great for news without commentary.

When I first saw Joe's new contract numbers I was a little awe struck myself but as soon it listed his yearly paychecks, I was reminded of our FO's genius. Joe will restructure like Brady after year 3 and in the end his cap hit will not be to bad AGAIN. Joe's contract has nothing to do with any of these players leaving or being cut. He is as always just the whipping boy for the media. Let em talk we still have a very talented team. This basically happens every year cuz of the way our FO can draft and develop players......FYI to all the know it alls i.e. the reporters, media or flat out haters.....of the players that left this year in specific or were cut. Only one was ever a Ravens 1st round pick....and that was 11 years ago and we got ALL of his best years. Everyone else were later round picks (except Kruger he was a late 2nd ) or UDFA. Funny how that works. Can ANYONE name any other team that has drafted or developed so many...especially UDFA's that have gone off to get huge contracts somewhere else.......I did'nt think so. Also a side note on that can anyone name any of those late round picks or UDFA's that continued to light the NFL on fire after they left Baltimore. That's a funny little nugget there too. THIS FO HAS IT FIGURED OUT. We lose great player every year and every year we find new ones AND win. People did'nt blow a fuse when we signed Suggs or Ngata to their huge contracts. What I find so funny is that this "Mass Exiodus" would not have been talked about at all outside of a few side comments in the media if we had not won the Super Bowl. Joe just cant win no matter what....we don't go to the Super Bowl....it's his fault and he is over rated.....He goes and WINS the Super Bowl AND was it's MVP......and everything is still his fault and he is still over rated and now over paid.....Poor guy. Truth is.....the media and people outside of this area just don't like the Ravens and never had....you know with our murdering LB.....our dirty players......heck our purple jerseys lol. In the end people don't like what they fear.....can't beat...or most importantly.....HAVE TO RESPECT. Sorry for the long rant....just tired of hearing we are going to suck or it's this person or that person's fault for players leaving or being cut. We lose so many every year cuz we have the right people in place to make them great players through various ways. Joe's numbers might look huge but DID NOT hurt this team or cause any lost people PERIOD. Oh yeah one more thing......can anyone name another team in lets say the last 10 years that has produced more Assistant Coaches that left Baltimore to become Head Coaches or lower end Assistant Coach i.e. SP coach or LB coaches that left to become DEF or OFF coordinators.......YEAH our Organization truely doesnt have a clue. LOL ....OH and it's Joe's fault.

Weddle has been an all-pro the last 3 year. He's not THAT bad, but I get what your saying. There are talks that Aaron Rodgers will get 23mil a year, so it goes up, up and up and bad players will reap the benefits

That was Joe's fault. There wasn't enough money left to afford to keep the groundhog's shadow.

I can't believe the Orioles are playing at home on Sept. 5!!! It's all Joe's fault!!! Maybe if he would've broken the record for TD passes in a single postseason instead of merely tying the record, we wouldn't be forced to open the season on the road. C'mon, Joe!

You're right. How dare he help lead the Ravens to a SB, so we are now forced to watch the season opener as an away game. If he had just been good enough to lose that SB we wouldn't be having all this trouble.

How is that for hate thinking? If I drink enough beer my intellect may drop low enough that I could actually be a hater.

Why are gas prices so high?
Why is there a deficit in the national budget?
Why is it expensive to shop atGiant?
Why is unemployment rising?

Because of Flacco's contract.

Ravens is a balance team. Raven won the super bowl as a team.

With that said, the salary cap might not be an issue, but Flacco's contract is definitely a factor. I would think there psychological implication to his contract.

Take Anquan Boldin for example, after hearing about Flacco's signing to a huge contract and then the team call you and asked that you take a pay cut, you would definitely feel unappreciated. I agree with him for rejecting a pay cut and move on somewhere else.

Same with Ed Reed. If the Ravens can offer Flacco that kind of money and you're Ed Reed, a big factor of Raven team, you're not being respected while Flacco is taking all the credit.
Ed Reed isnt even in the same universe as either Flacco or Boldin when it comes production value at this point in time.
