For the last three years all we have been hearing from the naysayer fans here and from other teams is our defense is too old. Now they are all saying we were foolish for getting rid of our awesome defense. It is hilarious.

Can't wait for next season when we do a little more attitude adjusting.

"Ray Lewis the murderer" has now been seamlessly replaced with "Joe Flacco sucks". The guy wins a Super Bowl and haters still hate. We all should be used to it by now.

Also, to be fair everyone keeps saying the Steelers defense is old and they were #1 last year.

LOL............ True!!!

The only move I wasn't happy about this offseason was Boldin. I still think a six was gift wrapping him to S.F.

I'm a Harbaugh fan hence the moniker but Boldin should have been shopped instead of a deal made between bros.

Need to add... The Ravens have quietly had a great offseason so far IMHO.

Yea but the deadline to cut Boldin before his bonus was approaching fast, and i'm pretty sure teams knew we were planning on cutting him, since it was rumored about for weeks leading up to free agency. This greatly decreased his trade value, and i'm happy we got a sixth rounder instead of simply just cutting him ( which the ravens would have done..)

Our defense was horrendous this year and a major reason why Ozzy could IMHO have cared less about losing many of these defensive players .
And many of these guys got way overpaid as well .

When we repeat as AFC North Champs, Ozzie will be looking at an Executive of the Year Award. We could have a few Pro Bowlers on offense, and I honestly believe our defense is actually going to improve this year. At this point, it's not even worth repeating all this to the haters over and over. The responses by haters to this barely qualify at rational thoughts. Those arguments aren't even fun.

They are just mad that we can be this good and be a small market team who has led with defense for so long in an offensive league.

I agree with you . I do think our defense will be better next season . I just have a gut feeling about it .

This is why AFC North fans shouldn't talk smack about Bmore:

Is there anything funnier than Browns/Bengals/Steelers fans trying to talk smack about the Ravens? I think not.
Suggestion: Get your OWN houses in order, dethrone the reigning champions, THEN, and ONLY THEN, can you even THINK about talking smack. Because UNTIL THEN, you’re nothing but a bunch of losers. (some, like the little Brownies, more perennial than others)
Cincy: CHEAP. Still sitting on $52M cap space. That’s funny.
Steelers: Cap hell, losing vets, broken down QB who’s injured every year.
Browns: LOL

This a thousand times this

You had to know that there was nothing the Ravens can do to garner respect. Not even winning the Super Bowl.

They must have been watching different games, since I thought our defense was horrid last year and that this is the perfect time to retool and refocus our team as an offensive-centric unit.

It took me a while .. I use to easily get sucked in, but now I know ... this is the jealousy of having a team constantly in the thick of things .. constantly going to the playoffs and having a shot at the ring. Notice, for years no one could say ANYTHING about the team. If anyone was taking a shot at the Ravens, regardless of what the topic, it was always "Ray Lewis is a murderer!! He killed people!!" Without Ray, they needed something and Flacco's big contract fit nicely.

Now, people who have no clue how the pieces we have lost actually fit on the team rant and rave about we've lost EVERYONE! The biggest clue to the ignorance are the people who say, "He lost Boldin!! AHAHAHAHA ... who is he going to throw to?!! HAHAHAHA!" Really? Do you even know who is on our team?

So this is our lot in life, boys and girls. 5 years ... 5 post seasons ... 9 post season wins ... 2 AFC North Champ ... 3 AFC Champ Games and a Superbowl Victory buys you a lot of hate in other teams' fans ........ and I am more than okay with that.

We have one of the highest valued franchises in sports. We are worth more than the steelers. Our division is made up of similar sized cities. Other teams been around longer for people to root for....that's all. I have no problem being the San Antonio spurs of the NFL.

That's just it, most fans listen to reactionary yack radio you can tell by
1. It's Flacco's fault he's selfish-- uh no it's not look at the numbers
2. Oh no not the D-- well our vaunted D was ranked 27 at one point it was a blessing we ended up 17 th
3. Not Reed too-- Love Ed BUT he is one hit away from IR or suspended
4. Pollard how could they? I still believe there is something wrong with a player of his caliber working on his 4 th team in 7 years-- in my brain there is more then cap issues.
5. Boldin * sigh* I guess he's too expensive

Rather a year too soon the Year too late, it's just hard because Ray is all we have ever know as fans and all these wonderful guys are also leaving.

Kruger and Ellerbe I wish them well, I don't blame them for taking the money I would too-- next man up!

But We had the best red zone defense....ranking is just yards and points, right? what did the steelers #1 defense do?...they didnt force many turnovers.

Ed reed still made people fear him....and injuries reduced his tackling ability...but still better than Deion sanders in his prime, lol. I would have expected a healthier Ed this season and he was still a ballhawk for us.

Maybe he didnt have enough leadership skills or upset harbaugh during the mutiny and therefore couldn't get a better offer from us. With Webb coming back....reed would have had a big yr INT wise for sure.

Red zone efficiency saved our butts and a Williams int or 2, when he wasn't getting burned by playing too far off the recievers.
