Thanks for everything, Ed Reed

No matter how prepared I was for Ed's departure, and I was all for letting him move on, it still hurts to see him go. The thought of not seeing him in Baltimore just gives me a sickening feeling, but I'm glad he got his deal and I hope he makes the Texans proud. One of the best players I have ever seen and I hope he comes back to retire a Raven. I want an Ed Reed statue next to Ray in front of M&T Bank.

Thanks Ed! The memories were ones we will never forget.

 At all the people in here spouting off about how, 'there's no such thing as loyalty, 'anymore,' as if the modern sports superstars have ever been about anything more than money. The Cal's, the Ray Lewis' (keep in mind if he had gotten the deal he wanted a few years ago, he probably would have been gone too) have always been rare. The cap prevents these guys from getting their last pay days from their longtime team and that's what sucks and what is great about football. Can't blame Ed for wanting to make the last million bucks he's gonna make EVER right?
LOL seriously. Its comical how ridiculous people can be when things don't go their way. Not to mention like Ray's retirement was so long ago that that would constitute saying "no loyalty anymore".

Two more jerseys for my "can't wear these anymore" pile. :-(

It's been a sad off-season.
My point exactly! I will never buy another jersey unless it has my name on the back.

I was planning on burning my two #20 jerseys and taking pics for my sig, but I just ended up throwing them out.

As far as I'm concerned he's just another former player.

Thanks Ed for everything you have done to the Baltimore community and the Ravens nation.....

Hope you the best and you are forever to be missed......

When you decide to hang up your cleats, please come back to the Baltimore and retired..............

PS: After we won the SB for him, I know Ed's time is done in Baltimore; I'm happy that he is getting paid well and still playing at competitive level.....cya around

Putting aside this faulty logic about player loyalty.. Say by chance that the Ravens didn't really actively try to bring him back. Considering since before the postseason started it was reported that the Ravens were parting ways with both him and Ray. Considering there were no reports that stated that they made an actual offer to him. That the reports of them wanting him back were more PR for the fans state of mind that they weren't just willingly letting our hall of famer go. If that were true would you still villainize him for going to a new team?

What exactly are you throwing away his jerseys for? Cause he thought he deserved more money and went for it?

He was just going where the money is, he is no different than any other football player in that regard. No loyalty anymore, buddy, no loyalty.

Ed, i absolutely hate the fact that the Ravens didn't retain your services and to allow you to play in ONE uniform your entire career. i will miss cheering for you in the black and purple. i'll miss calling out...Reeeeeeeeeeed, at M&T when you use to come out of the Ravens tunnel. I will miss you making the highlight film for the Ravens. however, you will always be a Ravens in my eyes! good luck to you and your family for the remainder of your career. you sir, are simply the best!

BloodRaven...Can I second your opinion? Anyone who leaves the Ravens, no matter who it is, is just another former player.

Never a better playmaker than Reed. Love you Ed

When Ed Reed and Ray Lewis would speak on the field, I would always wonder what was said in those conversations. Those two are the best at what they do, physically and mentally. You will be greatly missed. In my mind, you have already retired.

Ed Reed, you were one of the greatest playmakers I have ever seen but ever since that day Ward put that hit on you, you haven't been the same. It will be strange seeing you in another uniform but now you are the enemy.

Good luck to you Ed. I wish you all the best in Houston(except when you face the Ravens of course) and I hope the rest of your career is everything you want it to be. It has been an honour and a privilege to watch you play and I feel blessed that you played for my team. Even on a sad day like today you still had the capacity to make me smile by singing Two Tickets to Paradise and dedicating it to Baltimore while wearing your new Texans cap. Some guy.

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

Finally understood his message behind the "two tickets to paradise". One to the Superbowl, and one from Houston to Baltimore for retirement.

Thanks man, I love what you've done.

Ed reed... LOL.. at this point in his career, hes overrated. Have fun being exposed just like derrick mason did!!
The only thing Derrick Mason got exposed for was his stubborness. He went to play with horrible offenses and horrible QBs. The guy could still be out there doing what Brandon Stokely does. A great route runner with good hands. But he is out of the game by CHOICE.

So funny how people just hate on any player that leaves here, because a comment rubbed them the wrong way. Guess you want a bunch of Patriots running around like robots not having an opinion(unless, of course, it matches yours).

Nope, not at all, but why should I have any loyalty to a player who doesn't have loyalty to our team (and some argue that this should be the case.. that the player should not be loyal to the team because it is a business.. but because it IS a business, I don't have to have loyalty to a player either). He is gone, and he is no longer a Raven. Thats the cold hard facts brutha.

Amen to this. I haven't been a fan of his for 3 years now. He's too wishy washy.

Lol yup you are right. Why should players be loyal to fans when there are fickle ones on any team they could play for.

There is a thing called appreciation though which clearly is a concept that is over some heads. Oh let me guess appreciation for a player who worked hard on and off the field and who did great things around the community falls in the loyalty department and can't be done once they aren't on the team.

My wall in my basement will still hold a #20 jersey in a case, along side my #52 jersey in a case. They are only separated by a #5. This is your team now, Joe!
