For over a decade, Ed, you've been the definition of a ball-hawk. You've literally sacrificed your body for your teammates and fans, all for the love of a child's game.
Though it's sad that the business side of the sport is the reason why we must part ways, we'll meet again soon when you're ready to return for your retirement press conference and, eventually, your induction into the Ravens Ring of Honor. Shortly thereafter, we'll be there in full-force as you take your place in Canton among the legends that you had idolized as a child.
Ed, you've given us years of joy. Thank you for the division championships. Thank you for our second Super Bowl trophy. Thank you for your leadership. Thank you for your service to the community.
And, above all else, Ed, thank you for being an exceptional human being and one of the many reasons why we love our Baltimore Ravens.

I would almost guarantee a good game against us with the way he studies and prepares, especially considering he obviously knows us all too well.

No such thing as loyalty any more. A few million more dollars is all it takes. Sell out. Thanks for the Super Bowl.
It's a business. The Ravens didn't offer nearly what the Texans offered. Ed thinks he can still play at a high level.
No one working an office job would take a paycut out of loyalty if asked. Why should Ed? You can't fault him, especially if he's left the business side of things entirely to his agent.

Well Ed I have much love for you man, and I truely appreciate what you've done for this city and all the pain that you've put your body and famliy through to give us everything and more. I hope Texas treats you well.
