Of course this number could easily change depending on who is drafted. I see a strong likelehood that Leach will be cut, just out of lack of field time and the new crown of the helment rule.
if we wanted to cut Leach, that would've happened already... even if we trade up a lot, draft class will count about a max $2 mil against the cap due to rule 51... i believe we also get back some $2 mil after june from pollard's release

I mostly agree with this. I think Leach would be gone already if he was getting cut. We're a class organization & normally let guys go as soon as possible so they have the best chance of latching onto a new team. It's one of the things that make us a respectable FO. With that said, he could still be cut if the FO needed emergency funds and don't want to get rid of him. I feel like he would be restructured before getting cut, though.

Dennis Pitta still hasn't signed his 2nd round tender yet.

Bit worried on that
I don't think you should. I think it is a big possibility that they are working on a long term contract with him and the tender is just a security valve if they don't reach a deal before season starts.

The 12 picks will only cost somewhere in between 1,2 to 1,7 million to sign against the cap due to the rule of 51

How man players are currently signed?

Interesting thing is right after release, NFLPA had Pollard @ $2.75M (sans the RB) but recently changed it

Brian McFarland ‏@RavensSalaryCap1h
NFLPA also carrying Pollard @ $3.25M, even though $500K roster bonus wasn't paid. Not sure why? Would think would only count $2.75M til 6/1

Brian McFarland‏@RavensSalaryCap1h
(3/3) Yes,NFLPA records are wrong. They totally omit ArthurJones and his $2.023M salary. Makes a $1.543M difference(prior to Ayanbadejo cut)

Brian McFarland‏ @RavensSalaryCap1h
(2/3) Please ignore recent reports of Ravens Cap space from NFLPA records. Those reports are wrong, because NFLPA records are wrong.

Brian McFarland‏ @RavensSalaryCap1h
(1/3) Upon releasing Ayanbadejo, Ravens will be $4.140M under the Salary Cap: http://russellstreetreport.com/salary-cap/

Brian McFarland‏ @RavensSalaryCap15h
As reported, Ayanbadejo's release saves $807K, but actual Cap impact is only $327K under Ruleof51, due 2 cost of replacement player of $480K

Thanks for the update. And on June 1st we get 2mil more for pollard?
Actually, since they are now apparently counting him at $3.25M, they will get $2.5M in savings as of June 1.

Just to confirm my numbers of last week, when I said the NFLPA's records were wrong, they have now updated/corrected their numbers and agree with my $4,140,252 under:

I want to make sure I read it right. I could be misunderstanding it here: does this mean on June 1st, if nothing changes, that our cap space goes from 4.14M to 6.54M with Pollard's June 1st designation? Or am I misunderstanding that?

I think we gain either $2M or $2.5M. I'm not entirely sure what the situation with his roster bonus that was never paid is. We'll still have his dead money on the books.

Yeah, I misread his previous post. Just edited my original to make more sense. I think we'll have 6.54M in cap space after June 1st if we have no other signings.

Yeah I think you would be correct. Add in approximately $1.7 for the draft class, +/- some depending on us moving around. Also, add in McClain's deal if/when he signs. That should leave us with enough to get a vet OL or two.

...or sign Pitta, Jones or Michael Oher to extensions.

Extending Oher could relieve cap space as well. He has a pretty decent salary this year. It's almost 5M, I think?

Also, do these figures include the tender for Pitta?

I think we should use it for extensions as well. Go ahead and get a few guys like Pitta and Jones locked up so all we have to worry about next year as far as big signings is Oher (depending on how he plays) and hopefully Rolando.

I think any extension for those 3 would likely reduce their cap numbers for this year, or put it very close to their tenders at least. Pitta may be the only one that exceeds what he's due this year already.

The $4.14M includes all tenders for both RFAs and ERFAs, even if they have yet to sign their tender.

McClain's deal at $700K would leave Ravens at $3,920,252 under the Salary Cap. Will receive an additional $2.5M in 6/2 for Pollard.

If reports of McClain's deal @ $700K are correct, impact on Cap is only $220K once Ruleof51 is applied. Player he replaces was making $480K

What a bargain! Thrift shoppin, baby

Let's go get a vet LT or keep Big Mac, then draft a project LT.

I think we sign maybe 1 more veteran OL, probably a Center to back-up Gradkowski as he is the only player on our roster with any experience at C. We dont have much cap space left and most of it will go towards the draft class, PS, and keeping a cushion in case of injury.

We def need interior line depth and I wouldn't expect it to be filled by rookies, need at least one experienced vet and at least two draft picks on the oline,

With QB Caleb Hanie now on the books, the Ravens are $3,845,252 under the Salary Cap. Will get an additional $2.5M for Pollard on 6/2.

Is there a breakdown of the salary cap in future years? I'm interested in knowing what lies ahead in the longer term and also being familiar with how a move (like cutting a current player) will affect the team's position.
